I hope they explore the implications of Carl wearing clothes, because it seems like no other automations wear clothes. Even the swangees in ads aren't clothed.

    guys, something to note

check out the second to last panel, the one near the lamplight

the detective is all swinging his arms, lowering his head, but Carl is rigid and motionless, his arms at his sides even as he walks

you can also see this posture on the very first panel

I don't know why but Carl not moving his body when he walks kinda makes he character more endearing

I've long known of "Clickwise" as a term, it being mentioned in one of the published PA books and also, I believe, a newspost regarding Automata back during the initial voting period.

I did not, however, understand that it was a fully-realized language, rendered not in the limited alphabet of our language, but in a bar-code-esque manner, so that it may be scanned and processed in an instant by a robotic reader, to glean the information in a much more efficient manner.

I've stared at it for 5 minutes, and it's possible.

Provided it's legit, it appears to be a hybrid of bar codes and some sort of dot-encoding. The dots may indicate bit positions (there are 6 dots maximum, so 2^6 = 64, which is enough to encode the alphabet, though I don't know why capital vs. lower case would be significant here).

With barcodes, the "thickness" of each bar indicates its binary value. I haven't attempted to try to suss out the barcodes, though.

Someone smarter than me needs to take a crack at this, though. It may also be the speech of both robots, as the speech bubble points to both of them.

Yeah, that's what I realized. When I first was looking at the dots, I was thinking in terms of ASCII characters, but you need 7 bits to encode that. Since I knew ASCII has 42 positions devoted to letters, I was then thinking in terms of that, since you'd need 6 bits for that. Then I realized you only need 26.

At any rate, there aren't enough sets of dots for them to be letters anyway.
