This is the second biggest dick move Harmonix has ever done. The first biggest dick move was to favor and encourage the jerks on this board who think that no one ever has a right to complain about anything.
I already over paid for the country track pack, considering I already had the DLC tracks. Only putting 6 new tracks on this disc was a big FU to people like me, who have supported you with our wallets.

Awesome!
No one forced him to buy the country track pack. He could have waited for the tracks and saved money, but instead he wants to bitch about it.
Four dollars extra, I mean, the Country Track Pack was $30 but I just looked at it as a slightly more expensive DLC set that came with its own Achievement/Trophies.
And judging from the leaderboards it wasn't like they were exactly flying off the servers.
However the country pack is the first RB pack i've seen sell out in the stores
Okay but remember you live in Nebraska.
It's been continually sold out in most places I've seen here in Florida as well.
I traded it in at GameStop today, and the clerk (who doesn't seem like she'd be the type to listen to country, but hey, neither do I) said that she had been wanting to play it but that they had been selling out.
Is he bitching about the Metal Track Pack, I'm assuming?
Because the Country Track Pack was a fantastic deal.
21 songs - 8 ones available for DLC = 13 new country tracks.
13 x 2 = $26
So $4 to get a bunch of country songs before they went up for download, that's a goddamn no-brainer.
If he's bitching about the Metal Track Pack though, fuck, it's apparently "only" six songs so he can fucking wait.
Yeah, the Metal Pack. I cut out the bit where he was 'breaking his silence' from the 'awful forum board' and the immediate follow-up post complaining about not getting a direct response to his indignation.
my GHWT drum set broke*, so I've been thinking of getting Rock Band 2 drum set and buying the triple cymbal expansion for it along with some silencers.
Will these hold up if played carefully? The cymbals I mean, like, how sturdy are they how movable all that jazz.
*the cymbals came off, had to tape them back on. Also the green pad stopped responding.

I've heard they're sturdy enough, but again, trying to use the drum set for one game on the other is just begging for pain.
And are the only ones that can use the cymbals, since he wants to get those.

I have all 3 cymbals, and they work great. Once in a while, I have to tighten them down so they don't double hit, but thats about it.
2 of your cymbals will be joined at the him. As in, you can't move one left/right, without moving the other. You can see this pretty clearly by website pictures and such.
If/when you do get them, make sure you don't try to tighten or pin up the loose wiring for them, if you do so, you'll probably send some cross talk into them. I did this once, and activated my blue cymbal by hitting my green pad.
I highly recommend them, and I also recommend you play with them a bit before you assume they are broke. I've heard plenty of stories of people trying them, and them not working at all. I thought I was in the same boat, until I actually playing around with them.
are the silencers easy to install? I heard that you have to take off the outer plastic rim or something, and it doesn't sound like a good idea to me. The RB2 drums can't be that loud as to make me want to void warranty or something
they work awesome, but seriously read and read and read the instructions. I may be just an idiot, but I broke every single one trying to screw them on by stripping the screws. They SNAP into place, and then the screws keep them from sliding around. I was trying to screw them together, and broke them.
Though, some gaffers tape (the kind that makes it so things dont skid) along the poles under them have kept them totally in place so its fine.

So in counting from DLC Quickplay, I now have 493 songs total.
Shit, I've spent WAAAAAAAY too much on this.
Also I will eventually get the Country and AC/DC packs as well...

I had some silencers on my RB1 kit. Never thought I needed them for the RB2 ones.
I'm not sure which ones you're getting, but the ones I got were simply a circle with adhesive backing. You sat them right on top of the existing drum head, and that was it.
Is the whole WMG thing still going on? Porcupine Tree is signed by Roadrunner (along with Opeth ), which is owned by WMG.
I would kill of a Porcupine Tree three pack of Halo, Shallow, and Dislocated Day. Hell, just give me Deadwing as a full album.

We'll probably never know unless one or both sides comes out and says they've worked out their differences going forward. As it is, HMX is still going to try to license WMG stuff. But if Warner is going to be cocks about it, HMX will move on and return to it at a later date.

I'm from Europe, so naturally I imported Rock Band 1 and 2 when it took too long for it to actually be released here. I made a US PSN account to buy songs, using an Entropay virtual credit card. Now, if you don't actually live in the US you have to use a fake address, so I did.
Entropay figured out that I don't actually live in Beverly Hills (hey, I had to find a US zip code :P) and suspended my account.
Now I need a solution to get my new songs (give Gorillaz!). Either I get a new virtual credit card somewhere else or I buy from the EU PSN store, instead.
So, is the US version of Rock Band 2 compatible with songs purchased from the EU store?
If so, is it possible to have US and EU purchased songs in the same library?
Or the other way around, if I were to buy the EU version of RB2, would I still be able to play my US songs, while getting my new songs from the EU store?
Or does anyone know of another virtual credit card, so that I can continue pretending to live in the US?
Hey, interesting: I was poking around Best Buy's preorder stuff for the Beatles RB, and I found this listing for a "Special Value Edition" of the bundle. It sounds like it's vanilla Rock Band gear (probably RB1 stuff), and you get a drum kit, guitar, mic and the game for only $140. That's a significantly better buy. I don't know if this is a Best Buy only thing or not, but the box art mockup doesn't have any Best Buy labeling on it or anything.
It's probably the janky RB1 gear, but as far as just getting a bundle for mainstream people to pick up and play, it's a much easier pill to swallow than $250.
I was going to make a Mastercard joke here, but the idea of spending nearly $500 on plastic instruments for a game doesn't need a punchline.
Why would you get the full band kit and two extra guitars? Your jab makes no sense.

It's difficult for me to figure out what I've spent more money on; Rock Band or City of Heroes/Villians.
Maybe when I get home tonight I'll bust out the calculater and cry.

In the middle of a metropolis that's into emo and hip hop?
I think it's more because it has more of an actual theme to it and that gold box really sticks out.
Also because it's rated E.
It's been continually sold out in most places I've seen here in Florida as well.

I play Rock Band 2
I hate GHWT to death
thanks for the input though, anyone else have these? Or just know known problems or how good they are

these are the ones I'm planning on getting: http://www.amazon.com/Rock-Band-Drum-Silencers-Xbox-360/dp/B0016KGNOA
Edit: Also, Stupid Dream and Lightbulb Sun were released on a non-WMG label. I wouldn't mind getting some of those songs.
The Roadrunner stuff was licensed before the falling out. It came out quite a long time ago.
