Smokin' would be so much better without that note vomit hammond organ.
I agree, but only on the point that HMX *didn't* chart the keyboards in the similar section in (Don't Fear) The Reaper. I understand the choice to do it, but that doesn't necessarily make it the correct choice.
I understand they'll do it for freezepop, and if Grey Seal is one of the Elton John songs (it had better be), I'll accept it there, too.
So Rock Band has come to cellphones. Well, some of them.
The mobile phone version of the band game launches September 16 for the Verizon network, EA Mobile announced via its Facebook page Wednesday.
Rock Band Mobile will feature 25 songs in “high-quality” MP3 sound, and players are able to play lead guitar, drums, bass and vocals. The game will also have Quickplay and Tour modes, and it supports multiplayer as well as leaderboards.
No details yet on an iPhone version. We wonder if you’re able to download new tracks, as in Rock Band Unplugged for the PSP, so you can buy the same songs on three different platforms.
You can check out the song list and some screenshots below.

Soon, I will be able to wake up to my Rock Band Alarm (5-star on "More Than A Feeling"), then take a shower while singing along to my Rock Band Radio (getting a 4* on "Today"), take the bus while playing RB:U on my PSP (5* on "Rock Your Socks"), then sit through a meeting, using RB Mobile to avoid sleep. I will then, upon getting home from work, proceed to spend most of my evening playing RB2. After which me and a few of my buddies will go to a bar, and have a Rock Band Bar Night.
Me and the fiancee had a thought for Lego Rock Band: a Disney DLC pack. Possibly a Track Pack. Sure, most of the popular Disney movie songs seem more 'orchestra' based, but there's got to be some. Like the obvious one is the Powerline song from Goofy Movie ... that's where we got the idea.
I remember hearing a while back that Disney was either seriously considering or in the early development stages of their own rhythm game, but there weren't very many details available. This might have been referring to the Sing It! series, though.
They're in Frets on Fire. But the dude on scorehero says the actual charts were leaked with everything else because of a Nintendo slip up. So, like I said, grain of salt.
Frets on Fire is a freeware PC Guitar Hero (well, now Rock Band) clone that lets you make your own charts and tack them on while playing an MP3. I tinkered around with it back in the GH2 days, but the few usermade songs I tried were all bush-league stuff.
Yes, I'm such an idiot for not knowing the intricate and overly-complex inner workings of the ultra-obsessive 0.007 percent of Rock Band fandom. Thank you.

Edit: And thanks to Lunker for the actual answer.
Never called you an idiot or insulted you in any way, but go ahead and believe that. 8-)
So, do we know if the leaked DLC list for next week is official? I'm all about some Re: Your Brains.

The "typing crap in google" link and the subsequent smiley tends to be interpreted as being insulting, yes.

Today is a Zine day. So maybe. Though we won't know 'officially' what next week's DLC is until tomorrow. Obvious statement is obvious and all, but HMX learned early enough not to confirm leaks. No matter how authentic they might be.
The "typing crap in google" link and the subsequent smiley tends to be interpreted as being insulting, yes.
But really, is it more insulting to expect others to explain something to you that you could have looked up yourself in 30 seconds or less or for somebody to post a google link to that subject?

It takes more time to open a new window, go to Let Me Google That For You, type in "Frets on Fire," copy the link and paste it in proper BBCoded format than it would just to write "Freeware PC Guitar Hero clone." You tell me which one is more insulting.
It doesn't win me any Internet Snark points, but I guess I could make up for that with a smiley. :rotate:
Anyway, I was bummed that they didn't let me play the Beatles RB demo at the MTV store today, though honestly I think I'd enjoy it more playing at home uninterrupted. Last time I camped out over there to play RB2 early, there were jerky high-school kids there who kept messing around with the gear and picking the same handful of metal songs over and over.

The answer I got to my question about why the presentation looked weird was, in its entirety, was "Frets on Fire." No context. Not exactly helpful to someone who doesn't know what it was, and gave me no context. Was that a thing? A command to do to my guitar? An evaluation of the performance? It was just easier to ask someone to explain what was, as it turns out, an obscure fan program few people outside of the highest echelons of Rock Band fandom would know about.
Then again I got responses of disbelief when I said I played Rock Band regularly yet didn't know who S1ckcatonkeyboard was, so hey ho.
So, that Beatles Rock Band. Turns out Gamestop's window for being able to reserve Beatles guitars was approximately 47 seconds, and they told me not to expect to have any in on launch day. Ack.

Dude...
Maybe you should take a break from posting for a bit. I mistakenly believed that you'd heard of Frets on Fire. Your characterisation that only the 'upper echelon' of fandom know about it is just as bad considering that I'm not in the upper echelon... I've just heard of it is all and thought you had too. 'Buh? Sorry, I don't speak Scorehero.' isn't exactly well thought out as a reply when you could have looked up Frets on Fire yourself to gain context.
Now, if you'd replied with 'I'm too lazy to look that up.', well, that might have justified a lmgtfy link...
Maybe you should take a break from posting for a bit.
No. Look, I really just wanted a simple answer to a simple question, and "Frets on Fire," without context, didn't help. My honest reaction to reading that was "Buh?" and that's what I typed. And then several people condescended to me.
And honestly, considering you took me to task for not knowing who some poster on a message board was, you really are in the upper echelon of fandom. That's not me being snarky, that's me being honest.
IIRC, C10ud34gl3 is getting married in a week or two, so I think it's worth letting some testiness slide. Besides, people, love is all you need.
I got to see all of the Beatles instruments in person at the MTV store, and jesus, they look nice. They had the double cymbal pack available for $25, and I was sorely tempted but everything takes a backseat to my GRE studying right now. I don't even know how much Beatles time I'll really get in until after my test in a few weeks. :x

You do realise that just 'Frets on Fire' is, in fact, a simple answer to a simple question, right? (Now, that is both snarky and condescending...)
EDIT:
Seriously, though. Let the sickhands thing go... It seems to me that the most logical thing I can do is just assume you don't know anything at all and be pedantic about stuff. And that goes over well...

I mean, I'm not going to pull up another lmgtfy link, but, well, if you do google "Frets on Fire" the first result is the official web page and the second result is the Wikipedia entry. Did it really not cross your mind to take the three seconds to try that before replying?

I... didn't mention Sickhands. I said "you took me to task for not knowing who some poster on a message board was." I specifically didn't mention his name because I didn't want to take away from the message that you expected people to automatically know very, very inside information only the most absolute dedicated of fans would know. And I mentioned that because the phrase "Frets on Fire" is absolutely not clear to people who aren't the most dedicated to fans.
And really, this:
t seems to me that the most logical thing I can do is just assume you don't know anything at all
comes across as even more insulting than that Google link. A better thing to have said is to not automatically assume that I'm not versed in the very technical terminology of the series.
Yeah, I'm a little stressed right now. And I know you were trying to help. Just please, try to be a little more clear to people who don't speak the lingo, ok?
Edit: And I apologize for dragging this thread down into a discussion of how phrases can be interpreted. Rock Band is awesome.
I was actually looking for a video for I Feel Fine (not Rock Band at all in the search) and youtube suggested it. I guess I browse too much Rock Band with my account.

Six days, fuckers.
Did you just get pop-up ads of Beatles charts on Youtube? It seems like the exact kind of thing you would have to try to find.
