We got automatic because we are babies.
There was apparently only one blue Tiguan with a tan interior left in the whole entire world, so we have to wait for it to ship from South Carolina.
Felt nice in the test drives, though.
both toyota (and thus lexus) and honda (and thus acura) have completely forgotten how to design a good-looking car
completely and utterly forgotten
I'm still sad over Toyota getting rid of the Celica. Always liked the design of that car.

I don't like how all small cars are so tall
I talked to a girl in my class, not really a car person, about our cars a few days back.
She said she liked her car but that it was the opposite of cool
Turns out its a mirage, I LOVE mirages
If I had to have any 4-banger then I would go for a mirage.
She likes her car a bit more now.
I just like how squat they are, and how the design isn't too sleek, but isn't too bulky, I love how it seems to sit.
Eh I always thought the RX-8 was a mixed bag. The first version of it had just a bunch of random design elements in it and felt too much like it was trying too hard to be cool. The most recent update looks better, but it still has the stupid Mazda corporate grin-
And before anyone even tries to argue, the 350Z, 370Z and GT-R are all ugly.

Also my golf has failed its MOT and the quoted price for fixing it is roughly the amount that the car's worth. Might be time for me to buy an even shittier hatchback.
The newer WRXs? Eeehhh, I don't enjoy most of their design features. Though, truth be told, they still look as if they are able to tear your face off. Which they can.
have I mentioned how awesome it is working with mechanics and machine-shop guys?
Gonna take a look at my busted belly pan tomorrow, should be as easy as adding a large washer to replace the bit where it's snapped off and maybe adding a couple screws where it's come loose.
The fee? Probably gonna buy the guy lunch while he's working on the car.
Hopefully my trunk assembly replacement shows up soonish and I can get that taken care of, too.
And if it ever does tear off beyond replacement I found a site that sells an OEM replacement for ~$170, a bit cheaper than the Panzer plate, and since I don't have to deal with winter slush and whatnot it should last a long while.
And the belly pan issue is apparently a pretty common thing on older VWs, and I knew ahead of time that there would be a few things that I'd need to fix up on it. Mechanically it's sound and in good shape, but the previous owners didn't maintain the little things.
It's just that this is the first time I've had a car I own and wanna maintain, so I've never really done any sort of repair work or whatnot so it's a neat new experience. I'm sure somebody who is used to working on cars (like the guy I mentioned who's gonna help me out) wouldn't bat an eye at the sort of things I'm worrying about. I showed him the photo of the cracked part with the screw that made me go and he nonchalantly was just like 'Yeah dude I just need to get a Torx screwdriver and a big washer, we have'em here at work, might take ten minutes of work, I'll do it over lunch tomorrow."
My next project on it after getting the trunk assembly replaced is to figure out why the driver-side rear passenger seat trunk access thingy is busted. I pull the latch on the top of the seat and it doesn't catch on anything or release the seat so it'll fold down.
Wouldn't running around in a low-slung car without the splash guard be risky? I imagine hitting puddles and water going places it shouldn't and causing problems.

If your car is made kind of OK in the 50's then that wont be a problem.
If it does cause a problem then you should probably deserve to break down so then you can fix your damn car
Everytime I drive to and from work I give every Audi I see the stink eye, just in case it's Robothero. I don't even recall the exact Audi model I'm looking for, but just in case... stink eye.
Worst comes to worse I know it has a really great trade-in value. My buddy's dad is good friends with the managers at the local VW dealership (they've leased three or four cars through them over the years) and mentioned my Jetta and the condition it was in. A woman recently traded in the same model with another 100k miles on it in worse shape and didn't include things like the sunroof for at least $6k and other used car dealerships were all making bids on buying from their lot.
So for me to score this one for $4,000 a few hundred bucks in repairs and replacements isn't too shabby. After I get these various issues sorted I wanna get it professionally detailed and have them shine/polish the headlight lenses, they're a bit yellowed and foggy.
And before anyone even tries to argue, the 350Z, 370Z and GT-R are all ugly.
oh
well if you say so
i guess i can't argue!
nooooooooooooo
the GT-R looks awesome and the 370Z is great.
now fari can you back that up with scientific evidence?
because i remain doubtful about any nissan looking "awesome"
The front of a 370Z looks like a catfish-
What's with the fangs, and the stupid backswept lights?
In person the GT-R is a fat, bloated whale of a car. It's back end is HUGE, and has a ridiculous looking spoiler on it. The lead designer himself said it was styled after a damn Gundam.

the 2.0T is a sweet engine though, isn't it?

I'll up the ante and say basically all Japanese automakers.
Mazda, Subaru, and Nissan...All ugly cars.
The Mazda RX8 looks nice.
And before anyone even tries to argue, the 350Z, 370Z and GT-R are all ugly.
Mazdas are nice looking all around.
Any other Japanese carmaker produces ugly pukebuckets though, however technologically perfect and advanced they may be.
"omigod is that a road? yes that is a road weeeeee! let's go let's go let'go!"
Its awesome.
"Lets make it so fucking ugly it wraps back round to awesome"
And it just isn't a wrex anymore

Of course, I'm not as low as some people. Maybe I should save up for a Panzer plate...

approximately $86
$30 for an oil change and tire rotation
$11.45 to replace a cracked tire valve stem
$45 including S&H for the trunk assembly, $30 for the part itself.
Oh and $80 in gas since the first of August. . .sooo 643 miles
well if you say so
i guess i can't argue!

the GT-R looks awesome and the 370Z is great.
Also SH I first read that as $11,45 and was like

both look awesome
the new Maxima has really grown on me too
Doubt that this will stop me from glaring.
it's been ages since it came out and i see tons of them and every time i still go "daaaaaaaamn"
My Altima Coupe is pretty fantastic, and the 2009 Maxima redesign is great.
EDIT: There's a S5 here at work, I love being around when that guy leaves in the afternoon, because it sounds so nice too.
