Can Garza be killed? Is there a way to engineer the death of Garza? I think Doctor Li is essential, so she can't die (just go unconscious). Even if everyone else dies in the party, as long as Doctor Li is alive, the quest can be completed.

That isn't the problem. I can brutally murder Garza but Li still comes back to his warm corpse. The event where I am supposed to do that thing for Garza isn't triggering and he just stands around. If I could just get the game to think I had already finished the event, she should go back to going towards teh exit. I either needs to basically somehow cheat in order to make it as if I finished the quest properly or find a way for the event to actually happen or the game to think it happened.

While trying to fix it, I learned that turning tlc off and then killing a person can cause odd things.

Did you try the kill command in the console? I found out that using kill in the console can do different things than shooting the target. Maybe try teleporting Garza to your location every so often?

It sucks that you don't have an earlier save. I've never run into that problem in Taft Tunnels before.

I just finished up all the major content in The Pitt and Broken Steel. I have Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta, but I'm not sure which one to do first. Should I just go in release order and do Point Lookout? I hit level 29 just after I finished the last Broken Steel quest.

@Couscous: After some internet searching, someone said that standing near the terminal which requires 100 Science to hack (around the corner from the balcony where you get ambushed by the enclave, near the Chinese Officer outfit and Spec Ops book) caused Doctor Li to show up after a while and demand the meds for Garza, and it fixed the bug for him. Being the Internet, this could be complete and utter garbage, but there ya go.

Usually, when I go through the Taft Tunnels, I tell Doctor Li's team to stay put, then clear out the tunnel. Right around where you get ambushed by the Enclave the first time (10 or so troops who come in pairs), Doctor Li magically shows up to hack the terminal that is near the doorway (I generally camp near the doorway there) even though I told her to stay put. Then I tell her "Let's go!" and move along to the next section. The conversation about the heart condition happens shortly after the loading screen for the next section, I feed Garza some cheap stimpacks, and we all run our merry way, killing ghouls and a pair of Enclave soldiers in the process.

    On one hand, achievements.
    On the other hand, mods.
I'm not exactly sure how well it would run on my Pc though.
    :?

    Both!

And yea, PC version also has achievements unless you use FOSE which disables LIVE.

Actually there's a fix that re-enables Live with FOSE on. I don't have a link but it exists.

I beat the pre-DLC game for the third time today, completing my neutral course (what a depressingly boring ending.
The Wasteland proved difficult to live in, so let's not talk about it AT ALL until the end game stuff.
    One thing I noticed is
I have absolutely no idea what happens in the finaly battle up to the Memorial. Specifically, who got wasted in the Lyon's Pride. I know Vargas tends to be an idiot and die halfway through, but that's it. How many of the group survives on your games?

Yea I went over to that little super mutant camp by Rivet City, and all I hear is gun fire.

Run in there and all I see is Doc Hoff, his gaurd and the fucking pack brauhmin just slaughtering everything there.

Then they just walk off calmy like nothing happened.

I'll look up the mod that lets you run LIVE with FOSE. Unless it manages to make my game crash because holy fuck FOOK2 is a pain in the ass to add mods onto.

Doc Hoff is semi-important, but not as important as Crazy Wolfgang (who has a better repair skill). He is a great renewable source of bottle caps, especially after you've invested in him twice at Canterbury Commons. I generally try to keep all four wandering merchants alive, since they are all worth around 1000 to 5000 bottle caps in barter every couple of days, but it's not necessary to keep all of them alive. I'd keep Lucky Harith (large ammo supply) and Crazy Wolfgang (best repair skill in the base game) alive, at least.

Yes. Just use the pickpocket screen to put crap on them. You need a decent sneak skill and be hidden so they don't notice you giving them power armor. I forgot if they equip it immediately or after you wait for a while.

I wish this game autosaved more often and that it kept two of them instead of just one. When I die and get sent back 20 minutes because I don't save manually all the time, I'm probably going to stop playing for a bit.

I had some trouble with land mines for a while. First I thought about getting close to them and then quickly away, which didn't work too well. Then I tried shooting them, which worked, but I still took damage. Then I discovered that I can run up to them and spam E and I disarm them and pick them up.

I have a 360 controller connected, but I play the game with mouse and keyboard. Every time I start the game it shows the 360 buttons instead of the keyboard buttons until I go into the options, enable the controller and then disable it again. Is that a common problem?

Also, all pop-ups from Live appear at the top of the screen instead of the bottom and the mouse control in the Live menu seems off. I haven't experienced this in any of the other Live games I have.

Actually had it kinda wonk out - maybe it's intended this way? Not sure.

I went over there to get the Key from Dave, and the only people in the house was Dave and his two hoes. Shot Dave, shot the two hoes, looted the house and left. Outside no one was hostile to me, walking around like normal.

Went up and talked to people, and the only different thing was that when I asked someone about the election all they would say was "Daves dead! There can't be an election!"

    EDIT:

Nope, don't need to defend Big Town, just when you're doing the quest related to it.

Also fuck the Robo Butler. He got stuck in the bedroom, so it was kinda creepy every time my character went to bed.

Then when I woke up, Fawkes was also in there.

Then right as I was about to leave, two godamn Brotherhood of Steel Paladins just teleported the fuck in and took off running.

On the contrary, many mods are incompatible with one another. The fook2 beta, for example isn't compatible with much, and easily messes your mods up.

You don't need an expert to do mods, but don't let that discourage you. With a little reading and common sense (reading load orders, which mods are compatible), its pretty easy.

Yeah but they won't fuck the game itself up, which I think the original fear of AuburnTiger. The mods won't have any permanent harmful effect on the game, just make it a little wonky until you uninstall the mod or just run the game without the mod enabled.
