My pool was pretty booty, wanted to go UBR, but had no playable crits in black or blue really.
Some alright synergy in RGW though, with soldiers, tappers, and early beats (Jade Leech, Horned Kavu).
Decided to build a loose domain, with fertile growth and other mana fixer (sac a crit, get two lands).
First game, get the early leech to beat him to 10, but stuck without a plains.
He then proceded to cast 3 straight discard cards and drop a specter.
FUUUUUUCK.
Game two was a bit closer, but I thought Tribal Flames was instant and screwed up an easy two for one.
First game I draw land for 5 turns straight after holding a 4 land hand due to playing domain and having all 4 colors. The 3 other cards were 2 mana elves and a land fetcher.
Game 2 I draw land for 11 turns straight and my opponent stalls on two lands and a mana elf, who died on T2. Fast forward another 15 turns and I'm in complete topdeck mode, and hit my last remaining land. I could have played Draco on T6, but no, never saw him. Stupid shuffler.
I think I'm a land short. I thought 17 w/ 2 searchers would be okay. So many of my creatures have activation costs, though, and the two Battlemages are higher on the curve than their native 3cc.

I don't know if this is a display bug or not, but apparently Mageborn Armor, when equipped to a creature, will still allow it to have flying if the flying ability is granted after the armor is equipped. In other words:
Play Creature > Equip Armor (lose flying) > Play Levitation (gain flying) = Creature is armored while still flying

I'm the idiot today. Missed pre-release thinking it ended tonight, and made a post in the old thread, heh. Guess its not to bad, I'll get my pool in release events, that seem to have better payouts anyways. So, in the paper topic, Whit and Black seemed pretty powerful. Is that everyone thoughts
So my Nephilim deck apparently has an arch nemesis. Its name is "Void", and last game it nuked all of my Nephilim in hand and on the board in one go-round. He then proceeded to Extirpate all of them, so I was left pretty much without any creatures for my combo. Ouch.

Nobody else wants to do free drafting? I was expecting way more than eight people.
During the prerelease I went 3-1 with a white/black aggroish deck but I suspect that was due to having 3 cards to remove white, green, or red creatures in a field that had a lot of those. Past the first match, it pretty much was a case of losing the first game, then sideboarding in a lot of hate. Seriously, who cracks 2 Deathmarks and not a single Doom Blade . . .
I think I'm a land short. I thought 17 w/ 2 searchers would be okay. So many of my creatures have activation costs, though, and the two Battlemages are higher on the curve than their native 3cc.
3-3. That's about right for this heap of mediocrity. Oh well, a Deed and a set of IPA and six rounds of mostly enjoyable & nostalgic play. Not too shabby.
That the Lord Tiger Burning of the Hampshire Darkmagics did defeat the Dark Emperor of Painkeep, myself, metaghost, in a most magnanimous duel of epic, and dare I say, ungodly proportions, two games to one.
Though felled by a most fearsome blast by a dragon of incomprehensible ferocity, my charred corpse shall rise again, ready to haunt all you silly bastards who think to play a Planeswalker or Baneslayer or whathaveyou and whatnot.
