Rolling Back 360 BC Update

I play a lot of Winning Eleven 9 online on my 360 but since the latest BC update, I've had a lot of trouble with online games. When I am not hosting the half, I get quite a lot of stuttering, or skipping or whatever you want to call it, where the game can sometimes stop for a moment then pick up again. As I said, this is only a problem I've encountered since the December update.
I guess my question is whether or not there is a way to roll back the update to the last recent update. I've considered formatting my hard drive for my 360 but I have two concerns here: first of all, formatting means I will still have to download the update, which means I'll be back in square one; second, if I were able to find a version of the old update disc (from an online source, I suppose), would formatting the hard drive delete my saves and achievements and such? Though before I even consider that, does anyone know where I can find previous BC updates?
