Romance in London

So me and the new lady are going to London this weekend and I want to do something a little different that will make it memorable, but on a smallish budget! We've only got one full day in the city (Saturday) and we're going to see Chicago which was her idea. It's an afternoon (3pm) showing so I guess whatever I'm going to do will be an evening thing.

Any suggestions would be welcome, preferably not ones that involve food! If the weather's good are there special places we could watch the sunset perhaps? We've both been to London separately a bunch of times so hopefully I can find something that she wouldn't expect.

TL;DR - Suggest romantic things to do in London!

Thanks guys!

Greenwich Park. It is reasonably convenient to public transport (not far from London Bridge or Waterloo mainline stations). The view from the Observatory hill is rather good as well - it looks over a lovely park through to the various museums, then the Thames.

Failing that the other parks - Regents/Hyde/Kensington are all pretty nice too.

Or walking along the Southbank of the Thames around Waterloo way.
. If you change your mind on food recommendations you could do worse than training to London Bridge then going to the Borough Markets, then walk down the Thames along the Southbank.

Or Little Venice then walk through Paddington to Marlybone for dinner

I have very fond memories of Kew Gardens, though that's probably better as a morning thing. Speaking of gardens, the peacocks in Holland Park are beautiful and eat right out of your hand.

I don't know what you and your partner find romantic, but watching the city lights glitter on the Thames from our main bridges is something I'd enjoy. If you can afford it, the Eye in the evening is gorgeous.

Walking through Regents Park and up Primrose Hill. Regents park is lovely, and then you go up Primrose Hill, still a park but also a hill, and turn around and you get a lovely panoramic view of London.

    Regent's Park Official Site

I've taken lots of tourist friends there and they've enjoyed it very much.

The park closes about 9 in summer, but Primrose Hill isn't enclosed. Start at Regents Park tube or Baker Street.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I Google'd Holland Park and it looks like a cool place, will potentially check that out. Does anyone have suggestions for if the weather sucks?

Um perhaps you could kick about the big indoor markets - Borough/Spitalfields/etc. Or failing that, there is a big new mall near Hammersmith. Or just go to the National Gallery/National Portrait Gallery
