Where would someone in the US buy UK-only DS titles?
Bam. Three websites I've ordered from (with great success in the past) for DS games. No complaints of either unopened or pre-owned copies.
Play doesn't give me the option to pick US as a country.
Game seems to be the same way.
That's odd - Play.com specifically say that they can (and will) ship games for free outside of the UK. o_O
EDIT: Yup, checked the list, and what do you know - they used to ship to the USA, but they're not doing so anymore. Buggeration. Hmm... Got any friends in the UK who'll happy mail a copy to you if you reimburse them? Otherwise your best bet is probably eBay.

I just logged into my amazon.co.uk account and this specific item is causing my address to be rejected. It's likely some kind of distribution agreement.

Hmm. I might check eBay.
It's not all bad on eBay. Got a used copy of Resident Evil: Deadly Silence when it came out over in the US, some months before it came out here in the UK. Totally worth it, good price. Then again... It's eBay.

Yeah, eBay kinda frightens me. I'm still weighing my options though.
Edit: eBay is frightening especially due to the high probability of getting a pirated cart.

Yeah, this has been driving me up the wall when it comes to buying one of those arcade sticks.
I wanted SingStar Vol 3 for the PS3 which never came out in the US, and the UK edition of Vol 2 since I found the track list to be slightly superior for the music folks usually sing at my place. I ordered both from HMV, got them quickly, and they were both a bit less expensive than the US PS3 SingStars, even with shipping costs. I didn't check to see if they stock the title you're looking for, but if they do I would definitely go with them.
edit: Heck, checked real quick. They have the DS game for 11.99 (GBP) + 4.50 for standard airmail to the US.
Hell if you have no luck else where I can go down to the local JB and pick up a copy for you. I doubt it would be as cheap as buying out of the UK though, our international postage prices are a ripoff.
I appreciate all the responses folks but it seems that after shipping and everything else it's gonna be well over $30 no matter where I decide on picking it up so I think I'm gonna pass on this one.
Wait a second, what the fuck is with this shit? Since when did the UK get games the US didn't get? Isn't the deal that the US always gets the games first, and sometimes is the only one to get games? And oftentimes if the UK ever does get a game, it is sometimes more expensive?

Maximumzero, you could always paypal some nice euro gamer money on here and get them to send you it. Of course if you go for cheap shipping it could take a month to arrive.
My bet is that it's due to copyright differences. Chances are all the works are public domain in the EU, but still copyrighted in the U.S. See also: Animal Farm debacle with the Kindle.
You're pretty much entirely safe getting a Euro cart on Ebay because pirates will 99% of the time use US box art. Just look for the PEGI rating symbol instead of the ESRB and you're golden.
Because I'm pretty confident that every book on that cart is probably available free online anyway.
As in, legally, public domain free.
Well yes but:
- The browser is a bit shit (talking the cart version here, I don't have a DSi).
- Online versions won't be formatted for DS reading.
- Being online constantly will eat battery.
- Not everywhere has Wi-Fi!

The wireless and battery issues are correct, but the browser is more than capable of surfing Project Gutenburg. I believe it's intentionally kept in simple HTML/plain text so that mobile devices can take advantage of it. And everything on there should be well formatted for DS reading, you can go into single column mode and zoom in or out. I've used it before as well as GFAQs and had no trouble reading.
And the other big advantages are:
- having far more than 100 books available
- being able to read any time, even with another game in the slot

Ooh, I actually forgot about that one. I might have to add it to the order.
Any other UK-only games I should know about?

If not, here might be the cheapest, and I can vouch for them.
Only ships within the UK, it seems.
A shame, too, as it seems to be the cheapest.
Checking out the other links now.

I don't know whether they ship to America, but Amazon.co.uk definitely ships to all of Europe.
That's a new development. I know I ordered a bunch of UK only books from them in January.

Because there shouldn't be.

Check out 365games.co.uk.
They deliver internationally and I usually get items within a week of purchase, from the UK to Australia. Postage for games is either free or a pound.
I really wanted this book collection too, seemed like a great idea. Sherlock Holmes!
All of these works are public domain, so there is no copyright issue for any of them in the US.
My guess is shops won't ship to the US out of some distribution agreement or something.
But surely an ebay seller will be willing to do it.

My entire world has been turned upside down.
Another UK-exclusive.
I wanted both of these.
Stupid Nintendo.

You can thank Sony for scaring the shit out of import shops. RIP, Lik-Sang.
Living in the UK does have it's advantages.
Edit: Yeah, I'd be happy to buy you a copy and post it maximumzero, if you can't find anything else?

If you have an account set up on amazon it should show you when you a select an item if you can have it sent to your country or not.
Thank you.
