So. Uh. Hi. I just tried the demo on PS3. Came into the game knowing nothing about it other than the obvious.
It's pretty great, huh? I just did the part with the stealth takedown of the Joker's goons. Goons 1 and 2 got taken out quietly and the third got a roundhouse kick with the perfectly timed cinematic score rising up on cue. Then I hoarsely yelled "SWEAR TO ME!" at the cat.
I admit I've never watched an episode of the Batman animated series, but I'm kind of disappointed by Harley Quinn. I was expecting something more than a bimbo with a bad accent, I was hoping for something a little more... sultry and sophisticated, tinged with psychotic?
You are doing yourself a disservice every second that you do not watch the Batman animated series
It's animation hasn't aged all that well, but the rest of it's still fucking fantastic
As an addendum to this post, a few months ago I secured the entire animated series for $80 at Target in a big box set.
As far as differences between the two console versions, it seems negligible at best to the naked eye, so I'm gonna go with PS3 on this one for the Joker DLC.

So has anyone found out how to get the second Riddler Trophy in the electric chair room? I cannot for the life of me get to it.
...Open the grate using X/A?
No, the other one, that is near the ceiling on the top floor. I can see it with batarang-vision, but can't get to the grating.
EDIT: As in, the second trophy in that one room, not overall.
If this game really is like Zelda/Metroid, then there will be plenty of backtracking to get shit like this.
Hell, if you look in the torture room, you'll see there is a large wall opposite of the "exit" grate that is a different color and has light coming from an adjacent room. It's fairly obvious that it'll be destroyed/demolished later on, but obviously you don't have any tools for that this early.

You want Poison Ivy then.
Yeah, that's not Harley at all.
That said, I finally played the demo, twice consecutively. Took me a little while to get the hang of how the stealth portion is supposed to be played, but once you get it right, oh god is it fun. My last play through, I'd taken down everyone but the final guard, and he's freaking out, shooting randomly, walking along the perimeter of the room. I grapple ahead, to get on a gargoyle for a dropping take down as he passes underneath. Just as he's about in range, the Joker speaks up and yells "He's behind you!" The guy freaks out and turns around, while still backing up, just in time for me to drop down behind and grab him.

Remember the episode where Joker gets super rich and fires Harley? And then tries to replace her with a knockoff who has an even worse voice and calls him "Mr. G"?
Good times. Still one of my favorite episodes, which was adapted from a comic I think.

It's a dangerous path you'll be treading though. You'll have to watch Batman Beyond afterwards, then Justice League, then Justice League Unlimited. Maybe even Static Shock.

I tried looking for this box set back in April and could never find it on retailer online stores or in stores. Never thought about target though, so thanks for that. Now I just have to wait for it to be shipped.Link for those who may be looking for it as well.
So I really like some of the little details they put into this game. For one if your sneaking past a enemy Batman will move not just his head, but keep his eyes on them as well. Also if you look at his chest after the vent collapses when you leave the room with zsaz, you can see his suit has a tear in it. The only real complaint I have is after knocking a enemy down and their hands turn into glue.
I've watched a whole freaking lot of Batman on YouTube since the demo came out. A whole lot. I'd buy the Complete Animated Series but its A) sold out just about everywhere expensivo and C) doesn't include the movies. I also want a Batman Beyond Collection that includes the uncut version of Return of the Joker.
I have some of the things I've listed above, but I don't have a VCR hooked up to any of my TVs anymore so my VHS collection doesn't do me a whole lot of good.
This is my sorry attempt to mark the thread without making a "Blue Dot" post.
Yes I know about the subscribe to thread button. I've never used it though.

How could you possibly forget about Superman: TAS?
Anyway, that little mod makes me want the PC version. I'd love a batsuit without the rabbit ears.
Just a color swap, but it's pretty fucking cool looking. Can't wait to see what people do with the PC version later on.
It's kindof movie-bats looking. I like it but I wish they'd have done more than just paint the regular suit black.
The demo just came out dude. This was the first edit anyone's tried so far and it's mainly a proof of concept (he complains a bit about not being able to tweak the whole suit to his liking just yet).
Give it some time. Heck we're only a few months into the SF4 release and look at what people have already done there.
Maybe it's me, but does Batman's voice in the game sound different than what we're used to? I can only assume it's because it's been so long and so maybe Conroy's voice has changed, but it just doesn't sound the same.

I noticed that too. To me it sounded closer to his Bruce voice than his original Bats voice, but it seems like when he gets angry he starts sounding more like Bats.

It's because his Bruce voice was basically his Batman voice when he was in private
In public he was all "HI I'M BRUCE WAYNE I'M SUPER JAZZED ABOUT THINGS"
Yeah, that's what I thought. I guess he doesn't have to protect his identity while in the asylum. But it does just sound like Bruce instead of Batman.
I only mention it because of how fantastic Conroy is, and how he has different voices depending on which era Batman he is playing. TAS is different from JLU is different from BB, etc.
Ok... please someone let me know, am I insane? Am I the ONLY person in the world that thinks, based on this demo, this game is prolly not gunna be all that great? I just feel like it's a barely competent brawler. "Hit this ONE button to punch punch kick... now repeat on this group of 20 grunts that look exactly the same and take the same number of hits each! Hit them 3 times, they fall down! Get up! REPEAT till dead!!!
The stealth is a little wonky too... look around the room, there will be a grate. Crawl in and move to a room (you could have just used a door...) now use your OTHER magic button to glide effortlessly from statue to statue until all the bad guys are behind you. Need to drop a guy without being detected? Don't worry! You can batarang someone while his buddy is RIGHT THERE and he wont care! That jerk prolly slept with his wife anyway!
The character design is LAUGHABLY bad. Batman's eyes look like they are completely detached from his head and the first doofus guard i ran into in a cut scene almost made me ROFL with his retarded looking facial expressions.
Last thing I'm gunna gripe about is the fact that EVERY hallway looks exactly the same, and the rooms are oddly similar to one another. Without any sort of map and without really clear objectives I can see a lot of RAGEQUITS resulting from the time honored frustration of, "WTF am i supposed to be doing? I'm running around in circles!!! GAAAAAAA!!!"
I'm not saying it's a BAD looking demo and the game could very easily light the world on fire, but what I am saying is that I don't see how anyone else played the demo I did and thought it was THAT promising. (Guess I should have put on my Batman tinted glasses before starting...)
I dont think that the game is supposed to be overly difficult. The fact that you only have to alternate between two buttons in combat is a good thing, imo.
Have you been to any prisons? Hell, have you been to a modern high school?
Everything DOES look the the same, actually, for the high school everything looks the same, then they build exact copies all over because the county/distric only wants to pay for the one plan.
But I still disagree and don't have a problem with the little I see in the demo.
Just a color swap, but it's pretty fucking cool looking. Can't wait to see what people do with the PC version later on.

I didn't realize it was a mod. I thought it was the suit you unlock for beating the game.
The only real problem I have with the demo is the lack of variety in ground takedowns. I've seen three different kinds, though it is usually just bashing some guys face.
If you are going to have to do it alot during predator mode, give it some more variety.

Harley should only ever be voiced as if the receptionist from Ghostbusters went psycho.
@gamefacts - Totally and utterly true gaming facts on the regular!
Who wins in a brood-off? Batman, Dr. Doom, or Mr. Sinister?
Fuck Sinister he's useless, it'd come down to Batman and Doom
I'd give it to Batman but only just
Doom tends to brood less and plot/scheme more

Man so I tried checking on my preorder at toysrus.com and nothing is popping up. Man and I got it for so cheap there too.

All right, people. It is not a gerbil. It is not a hamster. It is not a guinea pig. It is a death rabbit. Death. Rabbit. Say it with me, now.

On PS3, aim is L1, Batarang is R1, follow-the-Batarang is R2, so if the aim and Batarang are on the triggers on 360, I imagine it's right bumper.
Correct, Right Bumper. Also, that third trophy is really aggravating me, I seriously want to see what it unlocks huuuuuurgh why isn't it the 25th?
