So, I am off today. Do I go see Inglorious Basterds and then jump back into Arkham or do I just say fuck the movie and play Batman for the rest of the day?
I don't work until 3pm tomorrow, so I can stay up a bit tonight.

Inglourious Basterds was damn good fun.
Seeing as you've already given yourself a taste of Batman and might still be willing to go see a movie, go see the movie.
So I got my Batman at Best Buy, did the deal where you get the game + the combo movie pack + $10 giftcard. Can I just return the movie pack to somewhere like Wal-Mart (since they supposedly take anything) and get an additional $14 back? I asked if I could return the movie pack at Best Buy, but they said no.

A non-fraud alternative would be to use them for the Amazon DVD trade-in thingie. I doubt you'll get much for them, but it's better than nothing if you really don't want them.

Quick non-specifics thoughts on the final battle:
Reviews were right. It's not that it isn't good, although it isn't, it's that it's just unimaginative. After all the awesome bits to get there, they end it on the most stereotypical "videogame final boss".
I also kinda hate that they end it with a game mechanic that they have to spell out with pop-up tutorial messages because they never introduced it until just then. Or, they kinda did, but not in a way that makes it intuitive.
On the plus side, the way Batman ends it? Awesome.
got the game. Not very far been trying to solve all riddler challenges in an area before moving on, but the lack of upgrades obviously makes that difficult.
Some brief, non-spoiler impressions. EDITED FOR ANAL.
+ The opening is just tits. The whole build-up as you escort Joker to the Asylum was just awesome, and the bit with
Killer Croc
has me real excited for the inevitable encounter.
+ Conroy is excellent as usual, but Hamill is clearly having the time of his life. His Joker performance is probably the best he's ever done, and the extra gritty dialog lets him really run wild.
+ The combat is a blast so far, with a near endless amount of ways to counter enemies and punish them for trying to get the drop on you. I predict most of you will utter "what are you, retarded?" after catching an enemy's attack form behind, followed with "I'm the Goddamn Batman" when you deliver the K.O.
+The detective bits are really cool, and has me wondering if such high tech investigating is plausible
(does whiskey really leave an air trail?)
. I hope it's got enough variety past "follow this trail to go this way".
- My criticism from the demo stands: the camera is a bit too floaty and zoomed in too close to Bats. And according to reports, it's zoomed even closer on the 360. It makes narrow movements a bit of a pain, and I would really like it if a patch put the camera a couple of feet back.

The spirit of Arkham? Who thought it would be a cool idea to have Batman interact with ghosts? I know it's the DC Universe, but keep that stuff out of Batman. Unless it turns out to be a hallucination or something.
So yeah, worth it. I just hope some of you guys finishing in a day doesn't mean it's real short (I'm fine with 12 hours. 8 hours...not so much). Seriously, don't you people like to enjoy your games?
