PA Store Ladies Shirt Size Help

I'm looking to get my girlfriend the "I'd *tap* that" shirt from the Penny Arcade store, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with the sizing of said shirts?

For comparison's sake, my girlfriend comfortably wears the Men's "Large" shirt I snagged over the holidays (it was a gift, suffice to say I'm significantly larger than a "large", but that's another H&A thread), and her closet appears to be mostly Medium-Large apparel. I don't have her exact measurements, which I'm sure would be wonderfully useful, but if I can't get even a ballpark on this one, I may just have to give up on the surprise and get them from her. Worst case scenario, at least she won't know which specific shirt I'm getting her or when.

I'm thinking I'll get her the Large, but wanted to at least get some feedback before I dropped cash on it (and probably another for myself).

IS the clothing in the closet men or womens large? I just lost 80 pounds so I am pretty good at guaging sizes.

Women's clothing. Far as I know, the shirt I got ("Jesus Says: Don't Be A Dick" to be exact) is the only men's shirt I've seen her wear regularly. She doesn't seem to mind clothes that are form fitting, but obviously not super-tight.

I also thought it was worth asking in case the material the women's shirts were made of might be prone to shrinking? I hope that it's too naive a fashion statement, but I didn't want to take for granted that they might be the same material with a slightly different cut.

I own a number of the men's shirts (Aggro, Rogues Do It From Behind, I Roll 20's, etc) and haven't had any issues, but figured it was worth asking.

I have a couple of PA women's shirts, they're very form fitting. In all honestly I wear a men's medium shirt (at correct sizing its not baggy) and I am in an XL women's from PA because I don't like my nipples showing. So I would size up twice from her men's shirt sizing. Women's fitted shirts, honestly, they're pretty small.

Instead of playing roulette with the ladies' sizes, which can vary by manufacturer (damnit), I'd go with a men's large, since what she's wearing is medium to large and she seems comfortable with the T-shirt from the holidays. The fabric is the same for mens' or womens' shirts, so unless you're looking to get her a babydoll Tee (which is cut differently), go with what already works. :) Good luck!
