I wonder if I should create a fourth save where I don't romance anyone, just so I won't feel like a dick in the sequel if I opt for Miranda. Yvonne + potentially a bad ass criminal? Awesome combination.
I actually don't know what kind of character Miranda is, but it seems like you're going through the galaxy recruiting some real bad dudes ("Are you a bad enough dude to rescue the galaxy?").

Just to stomp on hearts and dreams, Adam Baldwin, while indeed spotted wearing a Mass 2 tee-shirt which suggests strongly that he is in the game, is not voicing Grunt. (I don't want people going Oh Oh Oh and then being bitterly disappointed. I also don't want people being pissed at Grunt for not having Jayne's voice behind him, because that's kind of unfair to the dude.)
Sorry.
(And I believe that you can hear Miranda's voice in the iPhone game, and she is Australian-sounding and extremely easy on the ears.)

True, but you do end up with Liara and Tali in the first game. Neither of them are really merc material. I wouldn't be surprised if you get similar characters this time around. I mean Shepard needs someone for the captains quarters if you know what I mean.

Well, it doesn't seem like any of the characters will be returning to your party anyway, so I'm pretty sure you're given the old James Bond Love 'Em And Leave 'Em clean slate. Besides, none of the romances in ME were really "Oh, Shepard, I can finally admit my undying love for you", more like "Oh man, we could totally die on this next mission, let's make out and then go back to being professional badasses".
Although a feature where you can have Joker call up Ashley from the comms room so you can leave really awkward messages asking why she doesn't return your calls would be nice.

And hooray for Yvonne being able to keep her Australian accent. *patriot salute*
Well, it doesn't seem like any of the characters will be returning to your party anyway
I thought that the indications were the opposite; there are new options, but some of the old characters can come back. The main reason why they haven't been showing them is that having them available at all depends on your playthrough choices in ME1.
I don't know if I'd ever have Tits Mcgee as my romance choice, because based on some of the side profile of her she has grandma tits. Those things most be sagging like crazy, and it looks like the only thing preventing them from hanging down to her knees is the suit she's wearing.

Except they've said you can recruit a number of your previous party members back. Hudson hinted fairly strongly that your romance could potentially continue through the entire trilogy. And Mass Effect is not James Bond. I find that whole situation you described ridiculous for the games. Also, a few previews talked about whoever you romanced in the first game showing up in some scenes during some of the demonstrations.

I will take "old enough" as a suitable answer.
I'd put her at around the human age 17 or 18 during Mass Effect 1, making her about two years older than that during Mass Effect 2.
So, you know, all that Deviantart stuff is now slightly less skeezy.
Slightly.
Excellent, one third of my "bad ass Shepard and hot chicks" party is confirmed. Now confirm Liara and I can die happy.
After I play Mass Effect 2.
Wouldn't you want to wait to die until Mass Effect 3? That's my game to play before death, unless of course Dragon Age is a trilogy, too. Then I'd have to play all of those! GOD DAMMIT, BIOWARE! WHY WON'T YOU LET ME DIE ALREADY?

I hope that the sidequest portion, the planetary exploration, is somewhat better integrated into the storyline.
For example (and I'm not a game designer, so this might be a crap idea), if at some stage you were given an optional quest for a component X. Component X could be found on any one of half a dozen planets, and is randomised for each game. Then that would give me a cue and a reason for going to explore those planets, rather than just once I had finished all my first round of Citadel quests like in ME1.
Just a small gripe on my behalf, I prefer a little bit more direction for my optional side content.

I don't know how well they've managed to pull it off, but they said side-quests and exploration will indeed be integrated the main quest this time around. I'm also really liking their talks of hand-crafted planets instead of the barren, generated looking ones we had originally. The space exploration is looking great, too - fuel based and you can send out probes to search for multiple landing zones on planets and into deep space? Awesome! The new galaxy interface looks great!

As a result, the my renegade guy in this case was another white guy, specifically a bald douchebag with a beard. I didn't realize that this was such a huge thing to get Shepard to look like stars. Those forums suck at posting results though. From the few I've seen, it kinda just looks like Shepard with the same skin color and hair color as the star.

Thank G- I mean uh... thanks for that purely educational info. I was always wondering cause she sounds kinda young, its hard to tell with the mask and stuff.
Too many puppy vibes. I expect a tearful monologue followed by explosive decompression and the extinction of the Quarian species at the tentacles of the Space Squid armada.
...And then the Geth Fleet will come to the rescue, led by some or other main character turned cyborg so that man and machine may fight together for free love and toasty justice, eventually securing Humanity's position as the dominant surviving power in the galaxy and ushering in a new era of prosperity for Earth and all her vassal planets.
A question that hopefully Taky can answer:
I've played ME1 to completion 7 times now, but each time I chose all my decisions pretty much randomly, so I was going to have a go or two to set some characters to take through to ME2. If I did that, would it be worth going through all the uncharted worlds again? Given that I've already seen them at least three times each?
Basically, are there decisions in the random side-quests that carry through, or just things you'd see in a 10 hour play?
