I've got a problem with my home network. I have a cable modem hooked to a wireless router. I've ran a cable from the router to my desktop, and I can get on the shared network, but no Internet. My roommate runs from a wired connection, and I've tried every port, so it's not the router. I've tried different cables, and I've tried using the Windows diagnostic utility, but it can never find the DNS. Is there a better diagnostic utility (preferably free) that I can use to find any problems with hardware?
