Mostly because they're smart enough to know that shootas do more damage and are more threatening and if they don't I get to kill all of his sluggas. I guess it could just be me, knowing how to counter sluggas. It's okay, Canis, one day. HEH
(My replay shows a ravener in action and I'm not going to spoil who wins but he was a ravener in 1.2 or 1.3 and he beat us and he adapted pretty amazingly for a tyranid which isn't saying a lot but still anyway mine is totally better and more dynamic and even has global abilities)
As long as you don't play Tyranids you should be fine.
I find that orks have a lot of personality. They have the best quotes in any case. Something so adorable about a nob squad saying "MAKE WAY FOR OUH SPESHUL FWIENDS THE ELDAR".
well I'm downloading as I write this, live tag is lookfreegrenade
does the multiplayer run differently than the singleplayer? I was playing the demo and I didn't remember having to turn my settings down that low in the beta
The best part is Bethryn wants a unique replay to watch instead of the same old crap. WHOOPS! 8-)
Also LFG the game is generally the same, probably. What did you not like about orks and people play in vent sometimes, I think.
Watching banshees run down entire armies for 30 minutes isn't enjoyable (I guess unless you are eldar). The enemy eldar player only had his damn guardians when the vehicle warfare started and the tyranid lost most of his squads in similar circumstances.
Besides, Mecha was the only one that did anything particularly different or interesting. You and canis did a pretty normal eldar, the Ork was about as boring as you can get, the tyranid power harassed with his tunnels which I guess is interesting? even though the rest of his force was par for the course, and the enemy eldar I guess got rangers which was strange.
Not a terribly enjoyable replay, though you guys played well and had some neat combos (time field + term rockets as a good example).
Or actually watch the correct replay. I just watched it again and you're pretty much wrong except for the guardian, banshee, banshee start. Which, uh, against orks and Eldar is pretty uncommon.
Think so, though it wasn't on purpose (we both hit it around the same time) and my eyes could have been fooled by effects like the melee charge speed bonus. Something I need to give another testrun later.
Maybe someone who isn't a mouthbreathing retard wants to play some team ranked games later? I just finished a game on Angel Gate where both, that's right both, of my teammates went techmarine and build nine sentry guns around the north VP. Then the other team rolled in with wraithlords and we lost.
Then after the game they were all 'not bad not bad. executed on our plan well but we had some bad luck'
No you fucking idiot, you were just plain dumb. And I mean I'm quite poor at the game but at least I know the basics. Jesus christ. Both were rank 25 too. At what point do you stop doing that crap and learn that its a huge waste of resources?

But where were your sentry guns when they needed them the most? Clearly, you were the weakest link of the group and have no one to blame but yourself.
Hey. I'm as honest as the next guy about how crap I am. But it was incredibly frustrating to see them do this.

Can we change the thread title to Goomba vs Canis II: Argue Harder?
Also, still enjoying the SP. Need some people to play with before I give MP much time. Also, I suck at it and need a lot of help. I'm terrible at timing retreats and end up losing squads to sudden burst damage.

I'm up for both, well, when I'm online anyway. Hit me up if you're looking for someone to play. GFWL is subedii as well.
EDIT: Scarab, the obvious flaw is that you didn't go Techmarine and spam Relays where the turrets were set up. You can't blame your team mates for not following the plan.
So I have been trying 1v1 for the first time and been really enjoying myself... but I am getting tired of abilities not going off even though it uses the CD.

Better title would be "If comrade Goomba says it, it must be right".

But that'd be implying he's a commun... oh wait, he's playing Eldar right? Bolshevik scum.
So despite having actually read this thread, I have upped and bought DoW2.
Played through a fair bit of the single player to get bearings on things, all very familiar from previous Relic games. So I'm now battling my way on the multiplayer side of things and have shockingly found it to be lots of fun! I've only encountered un-counterable melee blobs twice so far.
The only thing I am slightly perturbed about is the auto-matching system: I've been in at least one team game where 3 very low level players (<5) have been pitted against much higher levels (20+), whereupon we were steam-rolled in the most unpleasant of fashions.
If anyone fancy's playing against a very new britlandish person, GFWL handle is "pablocampy".

GFWL seems to assume for new gamertags: "Hmm, maybe they're actually TS 25-30 players, let's throw them against pre-made TS30 teams" (which is absolute nonsense for complete new players (which make up the bulk of new gamertags rather than smurf accounts) - especially with the lack of a multiplayer tutorial) and after you lose a couple of games it starts to consider the option that you may in fact be a new player, and match you against lower players. Pretty stupid heuristic if you ask me but that's how it works.
The more games you play, the more your 'uncertainty value' drops and you close in on a TS interval.
I really just want relic to unlock the model / character progression to people that avoid ranked multiplayer like the plague.

We'll being getting around to doing more shoutcasts when Klyka gets back from Hamburg, I hope. Which of those two replays we do will be decided in an arbitrarily random fashion, of course!

Agreed. As I said before, I think ranked should be the most time-efficient method of gaining Rank, but skirmishes and custom matches (and Last Stand and the other new game mode) should also give Rank progression, perhaps at a lesser rate.

should I buy this and would you guys hate me y/n?

See... awesome. The enemies are gimmicky, the play is really tough back and forth, and when we win, we win against mass sluggas everywhere.
Also ork players could learn a lot from what those guys did once they hit t2.

but yeah probably going to pick this up on steam

Right because it was the warlock players who built loads of banshees and ran down whole armies with them.
Pooh you should check out the replay I linked earlier:
http://www.gamereplays.org/dawnofwar...tails&id=91427
It stacks between players? So massed banshees x 3 swift movements = dead everything?
Reeliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiic!
Are you sure? That would be just ridiculous.

I.E. this replay (TM, TS 26 vs. WS, TS 35): http://www.gamereplays.org/dawnofwar2/replays.php?game=47&tab=popular&show=details&id=92166&st=0#6295879
I end up staging a solid comeback, but it would have been a blow out if my abilities actually went off on time and/or at all.
It makes me want to punch babies.
Better title would be "If comrade Goomba says it, it must be right".
Duh, I don't see any Tau in my copy of DoW2, so right now the dancing little Space Elves will have to fit this role.
Tau secret code is Alt+F4, but you have to be in a 3v3 with a 100 point lead.
Try it, it works.
This is inaccurate. 1v1 with a 500-1 score.
Totally worth it, Tau basic ranged units one-shot things from about as far away as a ranger or sniper scout.
And just wait until you hit Tier 2 for Kroot! Banshees + Hormagaunts x Field Commander = KROOT!
HAHA OH WAIT THAT WAS DOW 1 NICE BALANCE DESIGN THERE FUCKMUNCHES and this isn't even mentioning fucking drone harbringers.
