There was this one time I bought the Ciaphas Cain omnibus and tried to read it and it was boring and it sucked.
That was a pretty crappy time.
Is this the one time where Pancake isnt posting sarcastically in the dawn of war thread?
I'm considering buying the eisenhorn omnibus and I've heard a lot of stuff about this Cain chappy so I was wondering if I should grab that too.
Cain is great, especially as a lighter take on the GRIM, DARK, HOPELESS! 40k universe.

I'm reading through The Killing Ground right now. I like it so far. This author's writing I find much better than the author of the Dawn of War II novel. I want a movie to be made of this.
Actually, any movie with adeptes astartes would be freakin sweet. And Tyranids!!!
The Eisenhorn and Ravenor omnibuses are both amazing, pretty much anything by Dan Abnett is. They're interesting too because they cover a lot of aspects of Imperial living that most of the 40k books don't touch.

I remain dubious about the film, but if nothing else it will have Space Marines stabbing poncy space elves/spiky demons in the face for 90 minutes, so it's all good.

Relic should make a game where you play as Maugan Ra and strole into the eye of terror, kill a few million chaos, find a long lost craftworld, throw a rope around it, and then pull it out of the eye with your teeth while destroying another few million chaos.

When you put it like that it's probably a good idea that Relic not make an Eldar campaign because that is literally exactly what Eldar do in every one of their games.
But literally every other race in WH40k also has pretty incredibly inconsistent writing as to how competent they are or are not. The fandoms for those races can get over it why can't you oh right it's because Eldar are the race where their entire shtick is holding yourself above others and believing you're a special little princess

Well no, I'd actually agree that they successfully see themselves as special little princesses. It's just everything else that they fail at.
