IG fighting off the Tyranids at Angel's Gate. This pretty much means that the Imperial Guard will be in the next addon right? If so, then yes.
Worked in DoW 1, why not here!

So Microsoft requires that Relic check its code to make sure it doesn't interfere with GFWL code, but doesn't check GFWL code to make sure it doesn't interfere with Relic code? Is that what I'm getting?
Good games tonight computer generated faggotry. won 1, lost 1, then won 1. and the one we lost was against people well above our skill range thanks to shitty matchmaking.
Relic recently posted on GR.org about how they're focusing their resources on CoH-Online (not the same thing as CoH), and patching their current games is going on the back burner until it gets released (next year).
I wouldn't expect too much, but a game-crashing bug may warrant a hot-fix - something they said they will do if necessary.
Dang so they are basically done with DoW2, this kinda sux. =(

Before people jump to conclusions it's POSSIBLE they were saying they were ignoring CoH in favor of CoH-O. But the way they phrased it, and the fact that it was originally on the official relic forums, made it seem they were pulling development power from everyone to work on CoH-O, and their existing IPs were only getting server-side support for a while.

This would be odd if true, as they have 2 new gameplay types lined up and some possible dlc campaigns. Hmm.

I'm more of a Chaos fan usually, but I just got a copy of Dark Heresy the other week or two and now I'm pretty psyched for all the possible commanders for the Imperial Guard. Well, assuming they go with their current model of whatever seems cool.
I can only imagine how broken the guard would have to be to fit into the current game. They're really quite shooty and melee is totally insane right now.

Don't bring your reality into my IG fantasy!
Anyways I'd be really excited if Guard was the next race, seeing as they're my favorite race in DoW and in the fluff. However, an expansion focusing on Chaos is probably a bigger possibility. What would be really sweet is if they managed to fit both into one expansion, maybe have an IG campaign where you have you stave off a Chaos invasion, or to mix it up, have some crusading IG clear out some fucked up setting like The Sabbat Worlds.
I think I'm the only person in the world that wants Necrons back.
I find their fluff to be interesting, especially the C'tan stuff, but a lot of their powers and units just seem to be too much "We have the most awesome shit that fucks up anything that you could ever do ever! Go fuck yourself.".
Well I'd imagine they would work well in DOW2. Small number of powerful units, some clear commander options and plenty of wargear. Plus a base that moves!
Mainly I just want to see the incredible particle effects they would craft for them.

Yeah the Gauss effects alone are probably worth it, they would look quite fantastic.

I don't see the point of the last stand. You can just play ranked and you'll have all the spam to defend against endlessly for 20 minutes you want. Attack moving human players aren't much different from AIs anyway.

Well it's good that Relic have elaborated so deeply on how last stand works for us to start making judgments on how it plays. Otherwise we'd just look like idiots wouldn't we?

I've enjoyed playing a game that has been in a terrible state of mostly spamming attack move with overpowered melee units since February. It's almost like we have got a track record of poor multiplayer gameplay over months and even several games to work with when making such statements. One could only wonder why.
I'd like them to fix the core game personally, but that is just me.
True enough. But they talked up arcade gameplay. I'd imagine it's less 'defend this point' and more GoW horde mode. Waves of enemies, a commander every five, a super unit every ten or whatevs.
Well at least Relic say they are investigating it. Which I guess means doing nothing but collecting emails about it.

I haven't seen the post in question, but at the Relic studio level, there's not much sharing of resources between the CoHO team and the DoW2 team...i.e. we have our own dev and balance testers, our own coders, our own designers, etc., and what one team does has very little impact on the other in terms of scheduling.
If I had to guess about the context of that statement (and as suggested earlier), the person may have been refering to CoH classic not getting attention in lieu of CoHO work.
Long story short, there will be more DoW2 patches this year (barring the apocalypse and/or dogs and cats living together).
Croak will you get Relic to hire me in one of the senior positions you need even though I don't have enough experience?
[strike]Haha, Relic positions require experience? Experience with what, being worthless?[/strike] Croak how come like 90% of your customer base knows that the melee vs. ranged dynamic is broken to shit but apparently not one person at Relic notices this?
Also flayed ones/warriors were spammed in DoW 1 until they got nerfed to worthlessness, I can't imagine them being any worse at all in DoW 2.

They already said that they arent going to change the melee bonus to units that are falling back. Hopefully they will change other things like the supression unit cause the hb and the platforms still suc...er are not worth the 30 power.

I know they said that, thus the question "Why are you so retarded if you work at Relic?"
Making platforms cost less won't fix them. At most, they'll be spammable, which I suppose is "fixed" for Relic.

Not to mention vehicles evaporate in two seconds.

You know, I always did like sisters of battle in 40k. I feel like they never got a good chance in the model range and codex-ing. All pewter FTL.
What I liked about them is that a) They were all crazy b) they had the cool tattoos and c) if they are included in DoW2 there'll be LOTS OF ASSASSINS AND ARCOFLAGELLANTS OMNOMNOM

Pretty much, had a 2v2 yesterday vs 2 orks. First 8-10 minutes was "fight off the 6 sluggas/wartrukks from your power", last 6 minutes were "fight off the 6 looted tank blobb". And we did blow up like 3 wartrukks and 5 tanks, still lost horribly. Wasn't very fun to lose though which is what they're going to fix in last stand!

Anything bigger than a walker should crush units.
I'm sorry, I'm not looking for realism in my science fiction, but come the fuck on. My predator blows up because I try to move it back and three sluggas are standing in the way and oh no it gets tangled up and cant move. Fuck that shit.
If it can crush a concrete wall, it should crush fucking banshees.

Agreed. Worked kinda well in CoH but they might need to improve the pathing a little bit.

It should at least injure the banchees and cause knockback or something. AT LEAST, i've never heard of a tank getting tied up by not being able to plow through infantry.
