I just logged into paypal (which I haven't in a while) it's not asking for my credit card number as a "security measure" as I log in before I can access my account. Is this legit? Or a clever phishing?

hey dudes, i just got back from a 2 week vacation in europe and have noticed that steam started offering a 4 pack deal for borderlands (I'm sure this has been discussed already)
It's awesome savings, is anybody looking for another person for a pack? I'd love to get in on one.
so we've established at least 8 people for the pack. . . now we need stooges who are willing to actually handle the collection of money/purchasing/gifting.

Verr, Paypal us pretty aggressive about asking for credit card info. As long as you logged in at paypal.com versus clicking through some link in an email you should be okay. (As far as I know.)
I'd expect that 3 of the guys would transfer money via paypal to one guy, who would then buy the pack and gift the games. At least that seems the most ideal way.

Wow, this game looks wonderful. Too bad I'm limited in my time and purchases lately. I'll have to hold out until Christmas for this badboy, but man it looks great.
Now to hope that they make a four pack for this like Valve's done with the L4D games, and I'd be set.

There's no fee for the sender. The recipient gets hit with a fee if you send it as a service though. Send it as anything under the personal tab to avoid that. Also fees if you are using a credit card, instead of having Paypal pull from your bank account.

And if it turns out to be not as fun as advertised, I'll just be Brick and punch things with my pretend fists. I'm just excited to hunt around for new and exciting guns. A revolver that uses shotgun rounds? HOW IS THAT NOT AWESOME?

From the look of most of this thread, the majority of people will be playing the hunter.
I'm going to be a hunter too... but I'm not going to focus on sniper, bloodwing, or pistols. The hunter has a bunch of skills that work with every weapon. Accuracy, shield penetration, reload speed, crit hit damage... and after a kill more damage, reload speed, fire rate (and killershot)... now imagine this with a shotgun... or rocket launcher.

I really don't want to handle money because I'm not all that familiar with PayPal but I trust (some of) you guys.
Taliosfalcon has my 1st copy already. Verr and Houk asked after copies 2 and 3 earlier today and I sent them payment info. I'll give them a day or so.
I've had several other people ask me about it (why I'm posting) who I'll ping if Verr and Houk don't pay by midday tomorrow. After that it's first to pay gets the copy (which I recommend anyone signing on for mule duty say at the outset.)
I'm still on the fence but I'm most likely to go with a Lilith: Controller build out of the gate. Hard to pass up Roland's turret though...
I'm definitely going [strike]black guy[/strike]... soldier. I'm hoping for some kind of assault rifle that shoots shotgun shells or flaming grenades. Something ludicrous, but devastating at the same time

I'm going to go Brick "I just killed a guy, look at my stats inflate" with a side of "holy crap, that was a rocket to the chest and my shield is still up."
My second will probably be a Mordecai gunslinger with no points in sniper abilities or the bloodwing.
The more I look at the tree, the more I'm drawn to a bullet-sponge Brick with a goal to apply Prize-Fighter as often as possible. Team-friendly, but not as cookie cutter as the healing soldier.

I've finally been able to get into some (but not all) of the official skill trees over on borderlandsthegame.com I like my Lilith Controller (25)/Elemental (20) build enough to call it the plan. Seems like Roland and her "shields regen when you kill a baddie" skills will be pretty useful for soloing.
