In the spirit of throwing things at the wall until something sticks, I am downloading dreadfully slow with the patcher, in the queue for the fileplanet open beta client to potentially update and then patch a smaller file, and now getting a torrent with the full install.
I don't know if it is okay to post the link to the torrent here or not... I will if someone says it is okay.

My launcher just updated itself.
Edit: Doesn't seem to have done anything, though. Download froze fairly quickly after I started it.
Allegedly this is a bit messed up though, as it will not work on its own. Instead you need to install the pre-load, move the hogg files, then install this and move the hogg files again.
Supposedly after you do that you only need to download 56 megs to bring it up to date.
I am currently in queue on fileplanet... So we will see what happens, while my other download crawls. My current download has been probably going for an hour now and has received 35.5 megs.
can you link me to where the new client + old hoggs = updated client conclusion is from?

edit for relevancy: I just got an email saying that the launcher should be working better now, for anyone having trouble with that.
just wish the game had music playing during most of it. there's definitely music, but it rarely ever plays during any fights making them feel sorta bland
My launcher/patcher just gives me a "This program cannot display this webpage" error. Jesus, with so many damn MMO releases to look back on and take notes from, how can a modern day MMO dev not prepare for stuff like this.
and now my patcher seized up. Well, I think I'm going to go make a grilled cheese with bacon, and then work on the Asari Ally achievement. Maybe the patcher will work after that.

I'm going to power through season 4 of The West Wing. Somebody wake me up when the patcher is working again...
Edit: As soon as I post this, and as soon as people start talking about something melting in Alaska, patcher comes back up. Typical.
Luckily (for me) I am on the other side of the building so I don't have to hear the cries of agony and despair.. But, NetOps is right next to the kitchen so I'm sure they're all caffeine'd up!
edit: Oooh.. None of that in the Cryptic Kitchen (sadface)

Jokes aside the only thing about this launch that annoys me is the crashing of the patching. I dont mind really long patching, i can go watch a movie or go outside (yeah right). But when you cant leave the patcher alone it can get a bit old.

I just tried it, but it didn't seem to do anything.
right click on your CO shortcut > properties > and paste everything from -project on to the end of the "target line"
