Remove -sync and it allows you to multi-download!
I tried this but now my launcher is stuck at the CRYPTIC LAUNCHER AUTOUPDATE box :c

Thats the server going FUBAR, not the launcher.

Restarted a bit ago with everything the same as when I was in closed beta, patching but still pretty slow. Hasn't frozen yet, though!

The dozens of "Here's a working fix" threads in the tech support forums are sort of amusing, in a masochistic way.

Well I just started mine again a few minutes ago and it's going quickly (relatively). I'm afraid to look at it though because the slightest thing will make it sieze up.

Someone mentioned that we should get compensated for this little charlie foxtrot, so since I'm about to leave my frozen updater running as I head to work full of false hopes, here's my suggestion:

Flying pigs travel power. Think two flaming pigs strapped to your feet. Ok, so maybe I spent last night waiting for the beta to start and then the rest of the possible sleep time trying to get it working. And maybe I spent the night before reading up on all the leaks that were coming out right before the NDA dropped. I'm not seeing any giant rabbits yet, so don't judge me.

All of a sudden my file to be downloaded size has stopped getting smaller whenever I have to restart the patcher. And editing the shortcut target hasn't allowed me multiple connections. Here's hoping the new FP client works.

I was in the game playing for about 3 minutes. Then I went in the options to boost the graphics to max. The game ran smoothly for about 16 seconds then CTD'd. Now I get this same File locked error. If I launch the game from the directory and try and log in, it just says it couldn't connect to the account server.

Boo-urns. Still, better now than at launch.

I can confirm that the double-client method SIGNIFICANTLY reduces the patch size.

    My exact process for posterity:

    1. Forward ports 7254-7256

    2. Download and install original Fileplanet pre-load client

    3. Run patcher and let it download a bit, then close it.

    4. Go to your cryptic folder and copy ALL the .hogg files in the /Live directory to /Live/piggs, overwriting EVERYTHING

    5. Download and install the newer Fileplanet beta client

    6. Without running the patcher, repeat step 4

    7. Run patcher and babysit the last of the patch (74MB for me)

I'm in the same boat. Mine has been stuck at 35mg for an age now, and will not go past it. It keeps freezing at around 40%, I restart, and it's still at 35. D: This has been for around 20 minutes now.

Anyways, now that the NDA is lifted, they really need to work on adding more content to the costumes. They have a lot of incomplete sets (as in, you can't use all the mouth coverings with hoods, etc), and a lot of annoying errors which will not allow you to use certain costume combos. Also there aren't much in the way of solid face masks (hockey masks, masquerade masks, etc), and while they have hoods there's no proper hoodie jacket to go with it. :(

Yes, though I figure this has to do with the many face options. Eyes can easily be in the wrong place, too. That I can forgive them of, since it's likely very complex to modify things to move with sliders.

Just Bri is you're still there I found a fix

delete both the champion.exe.deleteme and .exe.dmp files

if it seems like you can't delete any of them then you still have champions running and you must go to task manager, process, and end the process

once you delete those files it should work fine :)
