Maybe, you can start with the force END builder for the bubble-adding advantage, and then some form of ranged damage.

except they don't make a bubble. Do they?

edit: wouldn't really fit the concept in any way anyhow.

Pardon me if this was answered earlier, but for those of you who were wondering what the stock customization options for the pistols in the munitions pool are, they are as follows:

    Default - Oversized Desert Eagles
Modern Conventional Pistol #3 - Oversized blocky .45s
Modern Conventional Pistol #4 - Oversized USP w/ Silencer
Modern Conventional Pistol #5 - Oversized Revolver (Think the animated handgun from Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, but bigger)

    That's it for pistols...

So for those of you looking for some more exotic looking hardware like flintlocks to go with your character concepts, you will have to rely on trade skills or drops.

I have FotM balancing stuck in my brain since reading that forum post. I wrote a PM to Akinos about it, but I will share it here because I like debating and discoursing:
I was reading a post earlier where someone was concerned about FotM builds, and it got my head grinding into motion. I have been thinking of a plan to help alleviate this.

The goal isn't to cripple those who pick FotM builds though, just to diminish them enough while they are together so that they don't top the charts; to make FotMs slightly less attractive and encourage people to diversify. People will still FotM, can't be stopped. But rather than game mechanics trying to enforce balance, use the competitive nature of the power-gamers themselves as a social control against a single dominant power combination.

    Example:

Player A, Player B, and Player C all get into a party with the latest FotM build. Together they tackle a spawn of NPC opponents.

Player A uses an alpha strike right off the bat; Power X on NPC_1.
Player B uses the energy builder from that same frame; Power Y on NPC_2.
Player C uses a power from a different frame on the next guy; Power Z on NPC_3.

So far, everything is fine, and no one has any disadvantages.

Player A is out of energy, and build on the next mob; Power Y on NPC_4. He gets a debuff called "Cramping my Style" (because that power has already been used against a member of this spawn set) and against the remaining mobs in this spawn set is at -1 star effectiveness.
Player B is full on energy and uses the same Alpha Player A used earlier to finish his mob; Power X on NPC_2. Now both Player A and Player B are affected with "Cramping my Style", and each have 2 star penalty for the duration of the combat against that spawn set.
Player C is smarter than the other two, and uses some other power against the last guy; Power W on NPC_4. This player still has no penalties.

IMO, diminishing returns is an extremely unfun way to balance. I also don't seeing FOTM builds as being a problem in PVE like they probably will be in PVP. The answer, as I see it, is as much transparency in the mechanics and player/power usage statistics as possible along with honest balancing.

I don't think it is possible to stop the FOTM meme.

So, I'm mildly interested in this. Mostly considering it for the Star Trek beta, because I'm more sci fi nerd than comic nerd. If I get the 6 months for 60 bucks, do I still have to buy the game for another 60 bucks? And also are there any particular videos that you saw that completely sold you on the game?

That seems kinda silly and that it would weaken people in a team that happen to have the same powers for no real reason. That and people have so many skills and abilities as well as them being customizable, it would be really hard to tell if anyone did or didn't use that power in the heat of battle.

You would still have to buy the game, although it would be fifty dollars for the PC version (the Xbox 360 version won't be released for awhile yet and I don't even know if they'll have subscription sales).

You have to either pre-order the game from a store that supplies beta keys or you can get them off of certain websites. I'm not sure if they still have any available but earlier people were using this site:

Fire is all about infinite AOE. You can eventually get a power that passively regens your Endurance if anything around you is on fire and an instant AOE that sets everything on fire, and after that you're basically just a damage fountain.
