I just did Container Rush as well. Man, it was a bitch, but pretty fun too.
I can see myself going crazy over the Groundhog one, though.

'Market Meltdown' Achievement for those that are interested.
On 'Stock Market', come to a dead stop at the fifth checkpoint. You should see a ramp below, drop down there and reverse to find a rocket boost, (I screwed up and hit the boost while upside-down, but returning to the last checkpoint brought me to the lower ramp) which you use to reach the higher platform. You have two challenging ramps ahead. I was using the Scorpion and the first ramp I just held forward on posture and went at a decent speed, the second I feathered the acceleration. After that, just drive to the end into the lift. Even if you crash, as long as you're in the lift and hit the bottom, you get the achievement.
That YouTube video above just makes me rage over the fact that everyone can't just share levels with anyone else. Seriously this is Little Big Planet only FUN and I would love to see what everyone has come up with or be able to sift through the top vote-getters and check out the hardest tracks some devious fuck has come up with.

Well then let's get this started with this thread. I've been pretty distracted with Shadow Complex, but I've spent the majority of my time with the game in the level editor.

What's required for the Groundhog run, exactly? I've gotten through it without adjusting posture or crashing and didn't unlock the Achievement; do I have to get a Gold speed as well?

stayed up to like 2 AM last night playing the on top of the ball skill game. Set some records and couldn't stop playing. Think I broke into the top 2000 for score on that one. I shall be #1!

I'd really like to get this game, but it sounds like the rage suffered from the harder maps would cause my high BP to raise even more, and I'd have a stroke.
Do you have to beat the maps in certain times, or can you progress by just completing the map?

There really isn't any real incentive to beat the maps. You have 30 minutes or 500 retries to try a map to get a medal. You'll get bronze completion if you beat it under those requirements.
I don't think I've gone for any of the expert ones more than twice or so, but I have gotten platinum runs in the top 50 worldwide on probably 7 of the maps because they're fun.

Gold medals unlock more modes and mini-games, which is the only reason I'm attempting to get them. Also, getting gold on the National Tournament gets you the Micro Donkey bike, but I'm pretty underwhelmed by it at the moment.
the on top of the ball skill game I hit the end of the track and jumped way up to rank 199! then the next day saw I got bumped to 210. When dropping down to the second level there I just can't stay on the ball. damn that one is rough.

No restarts. Every time you crash you have to start the whole thing over.
Fuuuuuck, the last level is a nightmare. I never thought I'd say this, but that shit is too hard. I think I spent around 350 attempts alone on the part at 30+ seconds in:
AARGH! How can a bike climb 85 degree ramps? It can't, Trials HD, it just can't.
King of the Hill is the bane of my Trials HD career right now.
so what are people using for their bike on this one? I haven't unlocked all bikes yet. having some trouble here too. think my best is like 75 meters or so with the Evo bike.

I'm stuck on King of the Hill, too. Normally I find myself using the Scorpion for most tracks, but I've been using the Phoenix Evo for that track, don't get far regardless. I may have to look at some of the top ranked players on the leaderboards, since it actually shows how much gas, brake and lean they're using in real-time.
Has anyone else been using the level editor a lot? It takes quite a long time, but it's pretty much all I use anymore. I wanna do some trading!
The Indiana Jones track is taking forever. I planned on having several balls weaving in and out of the track, running over explosives the whole time, but it's so fucking hard to time it right and make sure the player can't slow down and let it all pass and whatever. Lots to think about! But I took a lot of the ideas in that one and made a new puzzle track. Hint: you gotta ride a fucking explosion for a bit. It's pretty rad.
I beat all of the courses. I have yet to do the tournament thingy to get that achievement (my last one). Fucking game frustrated me, so I am on a year break from it. Haha.
I think you're looking at it wrong. I played it as 'Hilarious Flying Flaming Motor Cycle Death Simulator: The Game' and had a great laugh with some mates for a weekend.
I'm fairly sure the top end difficulty maps are just there for you to load up, laugh at, and move on to doing better things with your time :P

Oh, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the skill games and most of the levels, it's just that the top-end difficulty sits there, mocking you. If you can laugh at the later levels then you have a far stronger will than I.
So, a make or break question for me.... Does this game record high scores even if you arent connected to Live?
GeoWars 2 doesnt, and that what makes it as a party game for me, and kills its competitive spirit.
Oh hello me from a month ago.
Well, just to fill you in... No this is another one of those games that doesnt save your best scores / times unless you are constantly connected to xbox live. Just like the way you cant unplug your 360 without its internal clock resetting, because it syncs itself using that same idea.
A foolish step backwards, i agree.
But you will have a lot of fun introducing the game to friends, and breaking many bones. And after 3 weeks you will finally beat all the courses, with whatever shreds of sanity that still remain. Congrats!
Man this thread died off quickly, but hope some of you guys are still playing. I'm looking for some new tracks from the user share.... anybody have any good ones?
I went to the official Red Lynx forums ( http://www.redlynxgame.com/forum/index.php ) and got in some of their creation threads for new tracks. There's some INSANE shit going on there. I've got about 70-80 tracks downloaded from various people and alot of those are my favorites of all. There's a ton of Rube Goldberg-esque shit going on that must have taken people DAYS to create.
I realize this is really no immediate help but the community for Trials is awesome so thats why I'm suggesting just registering over there. I'll try to post some gamertags I have on my list later cause xbox.com is being ornery right now not letting me sign in.
Edit: Here's some names of creators on Live. Just add them up with a note like "Trials player here" and they'll usually just accept for a few days so you can download their stuff.
You NEED this guys tracks, absolutely amazing stuff, I think he's been given a job with Red Lynx just after they played his stuff:
DrittesAuge
Others that are making good stuff that I've played/play:
QcChopper (challenging, Expert++ level stuff)
HollowCell
RickyDude360
L0rdMelchett (thats a zero)
I got back into this game because of the DLC (which is pretty great) but for some god damn fucking shit fuck reason they decided to leave in the select button to take you to the start of the level. Twice I've slipped and hit it near the end of Groundhog Forever and for the first time in my life I threw my controller. I really can't see any good reason to have it except in the level editor.
God this game hurts me so much. Why do I keep on trying?

Well B takes you back to the nearest checkpoint and Select starts the race over. Good for when you're going for Medal runs and can't make a mistake. No sense in hitting B at the end after you've wrecked when you gotta do the whole course over again anyways, thats why Select is there to start you over.

Damn you and your logic! Also, damn you and beating most of my records! You're really good!
I still think a simple prompt would be nice though. Starting over would be almost instant that way, and prevent accidentally undoing everything you just did. Maybe I just have weird thumbs or something because it happens to me fairly often.
Hahah oh yeah you're DiscoBurnout! Anytime I see someone from my friends list ranked higher on a track I basically make it my goal to beat them, I had to overtake you a few times the other day out of sheer OCD.
I am incredibly late to this party, but I ended up buying this game last night, and I am enjoying the heck out of it. It feels like this would have a lot of replay value, but unfortunately, only one of the people on my friends list has put up custom tracks. Is the only way to get custom tracks from other people is to have them be on your friends list?
Yeah unfortunately it is. Scroll up a bit though, I listed some people that I met on Red Lynx forums that have some amazing shit they've created.
I really need to get back there and add some more people, they've upped the limit for custom tracks to 200 now with the latest update. I've got about 80 now.

yeah I hit up the people Allforce listed from Red Lynx and they really have amazing tracks, some are so F'n brutal though.
Sadly I purchased the DLC for this game without a second thought as the game is so awesome and still haven't played it...... grrrrr babies require so much attention. Any thoughts on how I can teach a month old baby how to play xbox?
