Ok so I was upgrading my window 2k to XP. During the installation process the computer crashed while copying the install files over. when it rebooted my computer was stuck in limbo. Apparently Xp has already overwritten my bootloader to run the Xp install program at startup. however since it's missing a file the xp install freezes. I tried booting off the Xp disk but here's the kicker, my floppy drive is broken, so i can't load my SATA drivers.
So can anyone think of a way to get that SATA file on something(ie a bootable Cd or something) that XP install will recognize as a floppy disk so i can install Xp properly?
A floppy drive costs about 9$ now, there is no reason not to have one. You could try making an iso of your xp cd and slipping the drivers in there. I don't know if it will work, I've always just used a floppy drive.
There's a way you can burn a special XP install CD with your drivers "slipstreamed" in there, but it's far easier to just get a new floppy drive. Other than that, there's really no other way to install drivers at setup time. It's either slipstream or floppy.
Supposedly they fixed that with Vista. Supposedly.

It does all the common "unattended" tasks in the style of a Windows Wizard.
