The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
There's a french canadian show where three colour clay blobs go about adventures. Two of the blobs are complete dicks to the third who's slow and torment him half the show. Great for 5am though!
There was one episode of Pingu I've never been able to forget... WAAK WAAK
A couple more that pop to mind. I can't recall the block I used to watch but it was a mix of PBS, ITV and CBC for pre-school shows. The friendly giant was a part of the CBC block, while Teddy Ruxpin rocked the ITV noontime slot.
There were also a few live action shows on PBS at the time which did their jobs well. Jeff in today's special was a mannequin when you removed his hat, and since we shared names I'd do the same thing for fun. The polka dot door was a perennial favorite for many others but not QUITE as notable personally.
For all the people who are modern choom sluts, or have kids in Iceland (is that where this thing is made?), there's Lazy Town, the show starring a pink haired target of pedophilia and horrific puppet laden nightmares. The internet famous pirate song came from this show, along with a hero that looks like circus luigi, and an awesome villain with head deformities. It practically sells itself!
This used to close out CBC's broadcast every night. For a while, they also had the Canada water colour flyby set to the anthem which was a relaxing way to go, and very complimentary to the log driver's waltz.
