Is CVA our ally, neutral, or an enemy at the moment? Cos a friend of mine IRL
plays with them.
CVA is neutral to Goonswarm. Of course, neutral to goonswarm means "shoot them as much as possible, but go less out of your way to do it"
It's kinda hard to justify war against someone who's space literally isn't worth the jump fuel to get there. Mind you, if you don't shoot them you can fly though their space with a good likelihood of not even being shot, at least not by them.
What new gameplay features have been put in since I last played (about 9 months ago, the last time EVE gave me a free week pass to try it again)?
The goons own delve. Oh, and we have Orcas and a training queue.... and Titans are about to have their teeth torn out with the devs' rusty pliers. And there's talk of a system upgrade that would allow supercarriers to dock... oh, and moms will soon be called supercarriers and will have cap-popping fighter bombers.
But for the average rank and file pilot... there's wormhole space (profit for those who don't have R64's and more profit for those who do), and they're revising the faction ships to make them competitive with T2's.
Oh, and sensors have been completely reworked, it's now actually somewhat entertaining to scan for hidden deadspace sites.
How are tech 3 cruisers?
Expensive. Instantly primaried. They look cool, but they still die. If someone offered you the choice between a free strategic cruiser and a free freighter, take the freighter, you'll use it more. Tech 3's are toys for the alliance tournaments.
Well dang, that sounds lovely. If CCP tosses the free half-week trial mode bone my way again I might just jump for it. Training queue is the best idea EVER.

He is referring to the trial period to reactivate your account, which last I checked is like 5 days. I am also wondering if I should restart my old crappy miner pilot and see if I stick around if I am in a corp like MerchI. I just don't have to balls to do it again right now I think.

Well, I've just relocated my mining director character to Munory (right next door to the Deepcrows' Zimse office). You could rejoin the game, set an achievable combat goal for yourself like ("T2 tank and T2 lazorz on an Omen"), and then mine to finance that goal and then set your sights on what organization you want to be in.
I just dropped by Zimse and submitted an app. New to the game again and this time I'm actually into it. Had a trial about 3 years ago as a friend in GF wanted to sponsor me in, but I never had time to really play so I let it cancel after about a week.
Also brand new to PA as well, which means I'm probably a spy! Main thing I'm looking for currently is an esablished community of folks with the right attitude... IE, organised but not all super elite chest beaters. People who know how to have fun and not take their internet spaseships too seriously. All the goonfleet / jihadswarm propaganda I run into over the years is really what has attracted me to the game. I do eventually want to get out to 0.0 and experience fleet warfare, but for now I'd like to just get my legs and learn things the right way (IE, not in an NPC corps).
started out in MMO's with EQ back in the kunark days through planes of power, did some time in EQ2, SWG, and WoW when I'm bored enough. Aion was really pretty... just not holding my interest. Sick of digital whack-a-mole leveling treadmills.
Character is Chajitsoyo, about 2 weeks old and trying to focus towards minmatar frigs in general with an emphasis on covops and stealth bombers. I'm also interested in transporting crap through the more dangerous territories (like say, implants, BPO's, etc) but that is something I'll leave off till I have a bit more experience. Also have an alt account that may be a miner/indy but currently just focusing on the learning skills atm.
TLDR: First poast by spy seeks membership in deepcrows!
whats the point of PA having both deepcrows AND MERCHI? why not merger, especially if theres nothing in deepcrows? How deeply are MERCHI and Deepcrows together?

The idea was for Deepcrows to be a place for people that don't want to deal with the hassle of 0.0 space and/or couldn't pass the security check for MerchI, or something like that.

So I've been fagging about outside of MerchI for a long ass time. I was so :bitter: after Delve Mk 1 (well, whatever you want to call it after we were pushed out of Delve before Haargoth gave you cultural victory). That I ran off to low sec to become a space pubbie.
But I heard that the 'anomalies' they are adding basically spawn as you run them, so it would be like chain spawning endlessly without the spawn delay.
Is this truth? I haven't logged into sisi and Scrap Heap is a shit pile of worthlessness. If so, doesn't this really only help the few? Since then you just have fixed points as magnets for 0.0 carebears?
While I respect the idea of just jumping in system probing down one of these and opening up the rape to dumbasses who don't dock, it doesn't exactly make up for the no doubt monsterous increase in membership fees that will certainly happen.

Right now the Dominion upgrade system consists of a few parts. Here's just the infrastructure ones, i won't go into the military stuff.
Anomalies like you mentioned: These are gained at 2 per level up to 10. They will then be always present in your system, along with any other random anomalies. Once one is run, it will immediately respawn elsewhere in the system and you will the have to probe it down. The idea being that 10 people will always have something to run outside of belt ratting. Never mind the fact that anomalies are absolute garbage and a waste of time due to decreased bounties and poor chance of faction spawn escalation.
Wormhole generator: This one increases the chances of wormholes in your system. No one seems to mind this.
Entrapment: Increases the chance of complexes to spawn in the system. No hard numbers on the chances and as goons in delve have shown, constant running of complexes rapidly floods the market with faction items decreasing their cost.
Mini profession sites: Archaeo and hacking sites have a chance of spawning more often. Pretty meh considering they won't make you much.
Ore prospecting array: garauntees an additional mining site in your system. But seriously, lolmining.
The real kicker is that to access each level, not only do you have to pay more money in daily fees, but you have to have a certain "activity level" (that decays) in that system. So if you didn't grind enough npc's one week or shoot enough roids, you might fall down a level and not be able to access the upgrades.
In regards to fees, once ccp got called out on how outrageous their early numbers were, the current fees aren't that bad, something like a couple mil per day per system or something vOv
The real rage right now is over the worthlessness of the upgrades in combination with general nerfs and other changes, but there's 80+ pages on the feedback thread already. No need for me to continue a wall of text on that, hehe.
Hey guys, I went to the Merch forums from the link in Koreban's thread and registered. I am still not sure how or whom to contact regarding recruitment.

Lol, not everyone new to MERCHI or trying to get into it is a spy you know. Plus that guy in the picture is a bit obvious to be a spy, or maybe he is a spy whos undercover but so conspicuous nobody would think hes a spy which is perfect when you ARE a spy! Or maybe....
I've played this game off and on for a few years. I have been in two player Corps: Artisan Fund Company and the small one a buddy and I started Shanghai Pharmaceutical. I am just coming back after more than a year I guess it's been. The guy who ran Artisan Fund, while being very knowledgable about the game, was too suspicious for me. All of the guys in that corp can be found here: http://www.helixogs.com/
I have only PvP'd once or twice and would like to learn. I am tired of high sec space and want to get with people who value teamwork. I like to mine and rat but have never mined valuable stuff or ratted anything in below 0.5. I'd like to mine to produce items and equipment as well as learn how to mine gas clouds and make boosters. I am good at scanning and have found wormholes. As a matter of fact, I know where there are close to persistent wormholes that disappear and come back in the same vicinity.
I've been playing Eve with the same guys I play WWII Online with; I've known these guys for about eight years now and have met most of them face to face. What else can I say? I'm not hard-wired to spy; I am still pretty unjaded and not quite cynical like those people who have been playing for a while.
I live in Toronto, am a die hard Sens fan, like long windy walks, lingerie, ice hockey, Dana Scully, Canadian beer and have been known to get down with what Mother nature has to offer - I grew up in BC.
If you need to know anything, just ask. You wanna call me, I'm cool with that too, I don't have anything to hide as I don't see any point in hiding anything. And yeah, my writing and grammar is impeccable; I used to write for Taffpop if there's anyone who knows what that is.
Anyway, I hope to hook up with you guys and really learn how to play this game.

And....my post count in the OT forums at WWII Online is almost 20 k. I spend more time there than I do here obviously because I am new. Everyone is a n00b at one time or another.

But srsly, there's a lot of paranoia about spies in Eve - if you were doing this on the SomethingAwful forums, your name would INSTANTLY go on a list of "people to never, ever, ever approve to the corp." One of the reasons that MerchI and Goonfleet in general work so well is because even for a lot of spies, after they've spent the requisite three months or whatever "getting accepted" by the community, they realize that the community they're joining to spy upon is actually pretty cool and a lot of them just flip over entirely.
This is actually exactly what caused the downfall of BoB.

Guys, guys...I have 20k posts over at WWII online, which has abso-fucking-lutely nothing to do with EVE, Penny Arcade or Merch. These count as "posts" in the meta sense, right? Come on guys, work with me here.
Yeah I'm a Sens fan. I was born in Ottawa and lived there after I left the CF. I could never be a Leafs fan.
Lemme know what hoops I gotta jump through and what I need to do. As I said, I am not hard wired to be a spy and couldn't do that to a group I joined. I guess I'm too old for that or maybe all ex-military guys are like that? Who knows. I just know that's not me.
As far as having e-cred, or whatever that is, I mentioned my post count simply because someone brought up my lack of one here.
Ultimately there's no way to prove I am not a spy, I guess. Anyone from Toronto here?

I can only run up a large post count in one forums at a time. What do you want me to say? This is the third forum I am actively posting at. And yeah WWII OL has nothing to do with Eve, I figured if anyone played they'd for sure know me and if you have 20 k posts in WWII OL, you for sure know a guy named Quig.

Please, don't be an Ender Wiggins. Understand that most of us are fucking with you because of the amount of spies we get trying to come through Merch. You need to understand how cut throat the meta game in EVE is.
You may, or may not, be a spy (*), but trying to quote your WWII Online post count to us as a way to prove you're not a spy is going in the wrong direction. Roll wit da punches.
* You're a spy, but that's neither here nor there for this exercise in me trying to be nice to a newbie.
We have some very simple requirements to join Merch Industrial. You must have a Penny Arcade account for more than 90 days and have contributed to the community. There. That's it. Oh, and it's completely subjective, so if you've got a 4 year old account and you've never posted, or a 91 day old account with 3 posts, all in EVE related threads, I wouldn't bet the farm on getting in.

Drake Lars - alt on same account
Dclker & Pilotte are two characters (different accounts) I took over for two people I knew who couldn't play for one reason or another. One of them went to play WoW, the other guy changed jobs and moved iirc. So all totaled I have three accounts. I am able to mine pretty good...two Macks and an Orca. The game alt-tabs nicely for me, I don't have any issues.
What I would like to do is actually enter a wormhole and explore the area. The first one I found took me to an unknown 0.0 which was pretty cool. I got too nervous to stay for too long.
