You know, these guys bashing Felicia can go ahead and bash her once they start doing some stuff even remotely close to as hilarious/cool as the stuff that she does (other than this video.).
dang, pack it up, critics, we've just been informed that to have an opinion on something means you have to have first hand experience on the subject material
Am I the only one reminded of the one PA comic about how it's not for critics?
This video isn't meant to be serious in any way, it's a fun little larf. It isn't meant to be critiqued in that way. The costumes are meant to be silly, the dance moves aren't meant to be top notch. This video isn't meant to be an experiment to see if Felicia has a budding music career ahead of her. Hell, I wouldn't touch WoW or most any other MMO with a 10 meter pole. I would never go to a convention, I'm just not that kind of nerd and I'm kind of sick of the whole fantasy, swords and sorcerer's genre. But liking those things is not a requirement to get a kick out of it.
Did you get a chuckle out of it? Y/N
done. That's all the thinking your brain should be doing about the video.
The Guild was at Blizzcon, and they had their own panel for a Q/A.
She had to field one of the rudest questions probably ever asked at a Blizzcon:
snip
Edit: The guy talking about blinds at the end, Vork, is the bald guy in the music video, and probably the funniest character on The Guild.
Is it just me, but I have a hard time believing Felicia didn't know what "does the carpet match the curtains" meant.
She is the object of nerd lust everywhere and has been for some time. I find it hard to believe that she hasn't been exposed to that kind of vulgarity yet. Surely someone has suggested more to her at some point in her stardom.
Couldn't finish the video. For one, I always hated female vocalist, especially ones that have some distortion effect added to the voice. Two, if I wanted boobs, I could find more to easily look at. Doesn't require them to be in song form.
Edit: The guy talking about blinds at the end, Vork, is the bald guy in the music video, and probably the funniest character on The Guild.
This was terrible to see live, you could almost feel the awkwardness. Seriously who goes and asks that to someone.
Also the music video is meh, the guild is merely okay and it isn't that odd to think she doesn't know what 'carpet matching the drapes' means because she isn't that big of a star.
I'm surprised this thread is still alive since its nothing but flame bait. I would have thought Tube would pop in randomly and say something wise and indifferent about the video and then diss everyone involved in this thread and then lock it. Oh well.
Also I think porn star Ellie Foxx is a close resemblance to Day.......take that as you will.

I don't think it's unusual, nobody knows every disturbing phrase or kink or concept. It's not even about being insulated from it, it's just if you don't seek it out, you won't come in contact with it much.
for example here's Chris Judge (Teal'c from stargate series) learning what furries are

Ok, that video was funny as shit.
Honestly though, it's an ok question just worded rudely.

sigh, I'm not going to get into an argument about what vulgar phrases actors/actresses should and shouldn't know.
I'm just saying, "carpet matching the curtains/drapes" is pretty common.
furries, not so much.
This thread should die
You're deciding what's common or rare based on your own experience. Nearly everyone in the audience at dragon con knew what furries are, in that environment Christopher Judge was the odd one out. It's all situational and you're making an assumption that "does the carpet match the drapes" is well known because you know it well and the people you interact with know it well.
Whether an actress should or shouldn't know the phrase isn't the argument i'm making; and judging from her reaction it was either genuine or she's a damn sight better actress than i'd give her credit for from watching the guild or the dr. horrible's singalong blog

As for the topic at hand, the Felicia Day music video made me chuckle. It's not a fantastic parody, but there have been far worse put up on the interwebs.

I'm gonna feel dirty for agreeing with Evander ever so slightly...
But see, this is a balanced, fair, rational opinion.

It was still funny as hell, though.

PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERENT OPINIONS MOTHERFUCKERS!
You keep saying that about that comic.
I do not think it means what you think it means.
/Montoya
What the hell does that mean?
I thought it was pretty straight forward.
But seriously, it was a dumb video and I don't care at all other than it's fun to watch you guys get so upset about people not liking it.
Uh...
Yeah.
Would it really kill you to turn on your speakers for 30 seconds?
Wtf? o_O

I'm now most assuredly subscribing this gorgeous marvel of a thread.
It doesn't make me like this any better, but I have to say that she is a lot better in those videos, then in this one.
Are you referring to the "Crossing the Line" video in Sexual Harassment? 'Cause if so, they just ask if she's a natural redhead in that video.
Still, The Office was immediately what I thought of when I saw that video.
Which actually felt kind of good, in a weird way.
<Insert counter snide remark that you wished to receive when you posted that comment>
OCD and sometimes I dream I'm being chased by Jason from the Friday the 13th movies.
I'm not hoping for snide remarks. Have you actually read this thread?
I've not seen a single episode of The Guild so I'm only saying this based on Dr. Horrible.
Oh my fucking lord. Who asks that question?
Just saying!
Someone thinking with their dick.
Keep it that way.
Unless Patrick Stewart is involved, naturally.
