Clarification: Every piece of info a villager starts with is unique; no one else starts with the same information. Or in other words, there's one piece of information for each villager.

Actually, I do remember the first time I read about Deus Ex. Issue of PC Gamer in a doctor's office. That was the best fucking novocaine ever, although when I got the game I was totally confused as to why they dropped JC Denton being half velociraptor.
