My favorites are the horrible Sandy Frank Japanese imports like the Gameras and Time of the Apes and Fugitive Alien... and the Lipperts (ROCK CLIMBING) King Dinosaur, Lost Continent.

And who can forget the Coleman Francis cinematic disasters Red Zone Cuba and The Beast of Yucca Flats..

Netflix has these MST3Ks available for streaming:

    Zombie Nightmare
    Werewolf
    Laserblast
    Future War
    The Girl in Lovers' Lane
    Racket Girls
    First Spaceship on Venus
The Robot vs. The Aztec Mummy

They also have about 10 Rifftrax DVDs, non-streaming. I'd suggest both of the Shorts discs. They also have the Plan 9 Rifftrax disc, but it's a slightly different version than the theatrical riffing, with several lines left out.

Do you guys prefer Joel or Mike?

I've always been a Mike guy myself, as well as preferring Bill Corbett's version of Crow

I started watching during the Sci-Fi era, so Mike. But I think that's pretty much what this argument comes down to.

Yeah, Mike's a lot more lucid and would make for a better candidate, but the fact that Joel is so dopey all the time is what made him a bit more fun for me.

Joel walks up to the podium, plate in hand, chews a couple times, and gives his speech.

I can't really pick between them as hosts

Late Joel/early Mike is the best period of the show, later Mike gets bogged down by weird story shit Sci-fi made them do and it actually feels overwritten and early Joel is almost unwatchable because they didn't actually write jokes beforehand back in the day

If I had to pick I guess Mike though. Bill Corbett's Crow will always be the weaker version, though. Trace was way more awesome

Well, Joel did manage to take on Manos. Not sure offhand what the Mike equivalent of that episode would be.

Mike's episodes were way more polished and well-written, simply because they'd had so much experience by the time he took over
Keep in mind he wrote for the show from nearly the very beginning
As "characters" and people, I love them both. And Joel gets a lot of credit for "creating" the show

I will concede Mike had the sharper wit and was a more polished comedian
But Joel's humor was more interesting and idiosyncratic
Also the first season episodes had a fun, goofy, late nite TV kind of vibe

Yeah, sometimes I think they run up against movies that they really can't do that much with

Werewolf, for example, felt like they were really struggling

Really? I though Werewolf was pretty strong. I mean, you got a bunch of Russian "actors" trying to speak English and, on top of that, Joe Estevez.

Though Soultaker is the superior Joe Estevez episode, but that's because he actually "stars" in it.
