I hope they update the Robin costume a little bit, it's kind of dated these days. The one used in the film with Clooney wasn't bad, probably the only thing in the entire movies that was a good thing!
The one Damien Wayne wears right now still has loads of yellow and stuff in it. I mean something more dark, red body armour and a black cape or something.

You... Mean like Tim Drake's second Robin costume?
Anyway, according to Newsarama Tony Daniel's not writing Batman #700 but he'll be coming back afterwards as the full time writer/artist for the book... Really disappointing, his artwork's great but his writing and storytelling are really poor. Plus he's already fucked with established characters that other (better) writers will have to clean up.
On the bright side, he's going to be doing a couple of issues with Grant Morrison. He doesn't say whether it's on Batman and Robin or Return of Bruce Wayne though.
So if I want to read about this time-travelling batman stuff, which comics do I read? Is that just Morrison's stuff? I heard it ties into whatever the latest crossover was, can someone just sum that up for me? I don't actually care about the rest of the DCU.
The only books you need to read for the Return of Bruce Wayne storyline are Batman and Robin (starting with #10, the most recent issue) and The Return Of Bruce Wayne.

How is that new Nicieza Azriel book? I decided to trade-wait when I heard it wouldn't feature Jean Paul.

I only read the first issue and decided to trade wait, but Nicieza's set it up telling the current stuff going on as a flashback, where something in a future story makes him go crazy (which always happens to those who wear the chainmail Saint Dumas protects).
It's not bad at all, but just not something I would buy monthly.

I'm trade-waiting or waiting until they get another artist because Ramon Bachs is not the right choice at all

I thought Battle for the Cowl verged on insidious it was so horrible, but I've actually really enjoyed Daniel's work on the monthly. A lot of it does have to do with the art, but I've been digging the twisted tone of the story, also. I would agree that his writing is a little on the sloppy side - it lacks finesse, it feels a bit disjointed, there are a lot of things happening and characters in the mix - but I'm still having fun with it.
Starting in June, BATMAN BEYOND — a six-issue mini-series from writer Adam Beechen (who’s no stranger to animated characters, having worked on The Batman series a few years back) and artist Ryan Benjamin — will pit the future Dark Knight against his own past, as a dangerous force has begun to target Bruce Wayne’s old foes. Can Wayne’s past put Terry’s future in danger?
Not sure, gang. Let’s check in with Adam Beechen himself. Take it away, Adam:
“The dark future of the legendary animated series comes to the DCU in a six-issue miniseries, as Terry McGinniss, Bruce Wayne’s young successor as Batman, faces his deadliest foe yet — a mystery murderer from the Dark Knight’s past! Old faces return, new allies and enemies step into the light, and the partnership between Terry and Bruce — not to mention Terry and Bruce themselves — might not survive!”
Maybe we'll get the Beechen who was responsible for charming issues of the JLU comic. But I doubt it, since all his most recent DCU work has been pretty awful.

Adam Beechen. Isn't he the guy who destroyed Cass Cain? Now they're letting him destroy Batman Beyond? Man, this guy is a regular assassin for DC.
Technically, he destroyed her, and then wrote a mini explaining why he was right, and all of her fans were Babies while destroying her again. Then she was in that terrible Teen Titans arc. (To which you reply "Which one?" and then we laugh)

I liked his Robin stuff, except for Cassandra but I think that was less his fault and more DC's.
I felt the same way about his Batgirl miniseries after reading his interviews, and we all know how that turned out. I'm done being cautiously optimistic with Beechen.

Im kinda sad they haven't explored Joker sans Batman (TDK) or against the new Batman(ROTJ) since those are pretty interesting aspects for both characters.

I think Morrison's arc right before Batman comes back (this one? The next one?) Is going to be about this. One of the people that the Purposefully Enigmatic dude can possibly be is the Joker. The other thought is that he's Bruce.

Yeah thats a possibility, but Im not sure joker could keep it together long enough or why he would, but his general response to a lack of Batman is to try and make him arrive first and then get all disappointed. Thats one thing I dont like about comics, we've got two masked men at the minute and because they dont have distinct, consistent mannerisms or art styles, they can throw the identity in out of left field.

The Joker got too damn big, too iconic and crap. That's why we get Dick escorting the Penguin to the police HQ, and a brand new rogue's gallery. I like the new villains, mostly. But it's almost like there's an unwritten rule involved, like, if Dick as Batman fought the Joker, Bruce would have to stay dead forever.
...Which in a weird meta twist would mean the Joker should be trying like hell to tangle with the Batman right now.
The Joker owning future Batman in ROTJ is my favourite scene. Now yeah physically he couldn't take new Batman but hes mentally out of his league, so it'd be good to see him pull of something huge to test this Batman since I imagine Joker would know straight away its not the same one unlike Two Face who had to review footage. It seems Bruce will be back very, very soon though.

If he can write it the way he wrote the JLU comic, awesome. But since I'm guessing DC's going to make Batman beyond into a big thing, he's probably going to have editorial all up in his shit. So I'm not terribly optimistic.
It would continue the trend of the other writers not knowing anything about what Morrison is doing.
Sounds plausible.

I like this, I like this a LOT.
I mean, the idea of Bruce hiding in plain sight is something I enjoy (I'd even go so far as to suggest the Dick/Oberon scene in #10 has Oberon in the more Batman-like camera angles than Dick-I'm serious about this) But Riddler works for me...though, Oberon's kind of a big guy, right? Taller than Dick and pretty built too.
Riddler usually struck me as a skinny, shorter guy.

I was also toying with a Mass Effect-esque conversation/RPG with an Arkham-Asylum style combat/exploration system. That might have worked.

I liked Morrison's take in a way, too, but it didn't mesh well at all with Winick's
Everyone else's writing of Jason was terrible
That's actually by Dustin Nguyen, whose art would be a perfect fit for a Batman Beyond mini.
Unfortunately we're getting Ryan Benjamin, who is a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad artist.
