If by mega-event, you mean six issue miniseries, Then yes everyone knows about it. If you go back one page you can see the whole artist line up. If you read the latest issue of Batman and Robin you can see the set up for the mini. All the covers are out, the first two issues are up for order with diamond, it's going to be by-weekly. In fact outside of in-story specifics pretty much all of the information about this series is already out there.

Grant Morrison is writing Batman 700, with Daniel on Art.
1:75 “DC 75th Anniversary” variant black and white cover by MIKE MIGNOLA
Grant Morrison returns to BATMAN with this oversized special! And he’s brought an all-star roster of artists along with him including Andy Kubert, Tony Daniel and Frank Quitely to celebrate this milestone 700th issue featuring stories spotlighting each of the Batmen from different eras – Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson and Damian Wayne. You won’t want to miss this blockbuster story that paves the way for the return of Bruce Wayne and sports mind-boggling covers by superstars David Finch (BRIGHTEST DAY) and Mike Mignola (BATMAN: GOTHAM BY GASLIGHT, Hellboy)!
Morrison really likes his apocalyptic future where Bruce is dead and Damien is the Bat. Won't be at all surprised if the Damien section is a continuation of issue 666.

Not just Daniel, but Andy Kubert and Frank Quitely too. I assume it'll break down like:
Daniel - Bruce
Quitely - Dick
Kubert - Damian
so is Damian takin gover as Batman an alternate time line or is that the canon future so would that make Batman Beyond an alt timeline?
Batman Beyond was always impossible with the comics, and the same DKR, despite emulation in the later books.
They're all alt timeline futures, every one we're shown. If they weren't that would mean aged characters and permanent moves away from the status quo in comics years from now. Which will never happen.

I think it's 50/50 (maybe Red Robin shed some light on it)
Well, Morrison had Merlyn teaching Damien archery even after the whole Resurrection of Ra's story, yet in Tomasi's Nightwing Talia was scared of Ra's coming after her so she had that old guy steal Mother of Champions from China and dig up dead metas to clone and splice super soldiers.

Yeah, Morrison doesn't give a shit about what anyone else is writing, which has its good and bad points.
It has no bad points unless you prefer to invest yourself more in continuity - which never, ever makes sense in the DCU anyway - than in the stories themselves. I love most of the Batman books currently (just as I love Batman Beyond, etcetera) but I would go insane if I tried to tie them all into one another. What's the point?
Edit: Also, for what it's worth, Grant Morrison is a writer who is incredibly adept at maintaining his own continuity which, given the breadth of his work, is certainly worthy of praise. His JLA connects to Final Crisis (just as Seven Soldiers of Victory does), all of his recent Batman stuff is incredibly interwoven (I've seen #666 referred to as a "Rosetta Stone" for the entire series which totally nails it, considering how early it came out in Morrison's run yet how it used characters that wouldn't even be introduced until Batman & Robin), and so forth. As it happens, other writers also show disregard for Morrison's canon just as he occasionally ignores theirs - the Azrael mini during Battle for the Cowl completely misused the "Third Batman" that Dr. Hurt created in the lead-up to R.I.P., and so forth. It's just how things go with comics. Pick and choose what you like.

I keep trying to do this, but then I keep thinking that the DCAU had it nearly perfect anyway, and then I go do something else.
The urge to have a single, 'perfect' continuity though is really quite powerful.

The only thing I really know the Huntress from is crossovers in Bat-events. If I wanted to read some Huntress stories, what would be good?
Cry For Blood and Huntress: Year One
cry for blood is awesome. basically huntress shoots batman in the chest accidentally and the question takes her away and teaches her how to not be a total fuck-up.

That sounds awesome. Vic Sage is the man. Also, speaking of Huntress/Question teamups, I've been enjoying their teamup in the Question back-up features in Detective Comics recently. Especially this last issue with Oracle. It was good stuff.
Since I'm getting Batwoman in trades, I'd really like them to put the backup in it's own trade when it gets enough material. And throw in Question #37 while they're at it.
Isn't that how Tim Drake beat Cassandra Cain a couple of years ago? By "throwing out strategy" and attacking unpredictably without tactics or form? Or am I thinking of someone else?
It just seems like a silly way for a character to overcome another's obvious superiority. He sucks so much it circles around to being good!

The whole "well if you're really skilled you're only good at fighting formally trained opponents and not WHACKY RANDOMNESS" thing has always been retarded and always will be retarded.

Plus Mignola cover! I'm excited.
This is the best stance to take really. Any story relating to the future is going to be contradicted later down the line.

Thank god, considering what happens to Talia in Batman Beyond.
Also, does anyone know how Talia and Ra's relate to each other now? Are they both leading different segments of the League of Assassins?

chair to Creation and then suplex the Void.
His unpredictability and need to kill everything no matter what.
Basically same thing as Cassandra Cain, only with cybernetics instead of absolute nonsense as an explanation.
Think of him as DC's Taskmaster
What? How is Zsasz even remotely similar to Cass and since when has he had cybernetics?
Like Keith said, Zsasz is a completely unpredictable sociopath.
/edit MastaP sounds more like he's talking about... Prometheus? Dude with silly helmet that once screwed over the entire Justice League?
