Yeah, the real problem was the potions and arrows and keys and shit - sell that common every day crap in the stores. Even the shittiest lvl 3 magic sword is at least a magic sword, why the hell do I need to have a KEY drop in the middle of the wilderness?
For that matter, why does 'a key' open anything with a lock? Drop the damn key - the fucking box is guarded by legions of demons, your 50 gold is as safe as it's gonna get.

Good news for you then, arrows and keys are both gone!
I do wonder how they're going to manage people transferring items to their alts; if it becomes easy then most lowbie chars will be using transferred gear instead of any items they find.
(which doesn't imply that it should be difficult. Giving items level requirements will have to be very carefully done otherwise, though)
There had damn well better be a mail system/shared stash. They've said something vague about it that I take as a rock solid promise.
Yeah, as an alt addict I really hope that I'm able to hook up my lower characters with assorted stuff I find along the way fairly painlessly. I mean, whether it gets mailed over or shared-stash'd over or just dropped on the ground and traded in a muling game, that stuff is going to get moved. It'd be a nice quality of life improvement to make it easier and less time consuming to do than harder.
And I too recall something vague about it, but as we've seen with skill trees, just because we heard about something being in the current builds doesn't mean it'll make it (or make it unchanged) by release.

Blizzard should make it so that aside from the one outside environment with the rainbow in the background, the only other instance in the game where rainbows are seen is while playing a hardcore character. And in this mode, rainbows should burst forth from enemies as they die and shimmer across the screen brightly. Killing a mob of enemies quickly should result in the rainbows combining to form a portal, from which bunnies and kittens burst forth. The bunnies and kittens proclaim you to be their savior, and enable you to perform a sort of Mortal Kombat "Friendship" finisher on enemies for a short time if you critical hit.

Apparently the picture of the glowering barb in the inventory screen is hiding something:
I'm aware of what class I'm playing, I have no idea why I would need a picture of that beside the gear I'm wearing. It seems out of place and just placed there for a filler.
There's something that goes there. Another UI element that was purposefully hidden.
It's the Rainbow Meter. It displays number of rainbows found and builds your Personal Rainbow Power (PRP) until you can unleash it in a stunning bright, sunny, colorful wave of decimation.

I will seriously be disappointed if one of the secret levels (yes, there's more than one now, because I said so and it'd be awesome) is not a care bear/unicorn/rainbow LSD fest. Maybe the other has Diablofied undead unicorns and skeletal carebears. one serious bonus level and one satirical.
also: HC with respecs 4 life (though honestly softcore will be fun as hell for a long ass time)

Okay, are the enhancement numbers added to the stats, or are they already taken into account by the stats? That's something I could never figure out in these games.
All potions should be respec potions. The REAL problem with Diablo has always been health/mana potions. If you can't solo the entire game hell hardcore without ever getting hit, you are no true adventurer.
In the midst of a tough battle, health running low, other resources almost depleted, you reach for a hotkey by sheer reflex... and suddenly you have 0 allocated skillpoints.

The numbers above the red line have taken the enhancements into account, I think.

Yes, keys were yet another pointless annoyance mechanic in D2. Just another reason the people wanting D3 to be just like D2 but with new graphics/characters are not allowed to have opinions anymore.

This is why the assassin is the best class. Fuck keys.

It's an obviously in-development build, don't freak out too much about it. There are obvious signs of absent polish - the hilarious sans-serif fonts in some of the menus, for instance. And the shoddy shadows on the cart.

But that aside. Why , specifically? :P
@ what look like ID scrolls
Everything else looks pretty slick for pre-alpha, although it damn well should. This game has been in development for over half a decade.
The RMB skill looks like "face punch". Why you would do that when you have swords, axes, etc.? Strangely, I still want to try it. Especially if I could rename it "bitch slap".
When cleaving heads off of things starts to get old after the thousandth time, you probably start feeling the urge to punch things in the face. Especially annoying NPCs.

Separate drops for each player, it looks like.
They do. Everyone sees their own loot. But dropping stuff on the ground for your alts was lame as hell.
This will make or break the game for me.

Or what if they even used the rainbow as a progress bar: the more demons you kill the farther it goes across the sky! That would be so intense!
When you level up a brief "spring bloom" special effect happens, ala Okami, where your character leaves flowers in his footsteps for a short time.

I love it. the secret unicorn level. final boss: the double rainbow unicorn queen
And when you say "queen".... Well, it's a dude.

That'd certainly be problematic.

Edit: in hardcore mode their "weakness" is a 95% resistance instead of an immunity.
