I miss AFROTC. I don't miss the standing at attention for an hour and then marching for another hour though. Not that it was hard or anything, just boring. I miss PT though, I got into shape quick.

Airborne school was the worst part of my army experience.

I would've had to do para training at Pensacola if I had stayed in
Would've been like "here's how to steer and not break every bone on landing" though, it was only a three day course or four days or something
I think it was Darth who told the story about pissing himself on his first jump and the sgt told him not to worry about, he had shit himself on his first jump

I almost passed out on my first jump. Not on the plane, but actually during the jump itself. I started blacking out and then thought I couldn't breathe.
The last half of my time in the army I really began to hate everything and everyone in the army, and even outside of it. Fuck, I was so anti-social.

I heard our field training was pretty harsh. My roommate failed out of it after being in AFROTC for a while, which really sucked. It was kind of awkward for him whenever he saw anyone from our wing after that.
I had to drop out earlier than that for psychological/grade reasons so it wasn't quite as abrupt as his.
Is this show like that reality show that was on USA back in like '03 that was a bunch of ex-spec ops guys doing missions for a grand prize and it was hosted by the old Navy SEAL dude from the first survivor show? Thats show was pretty cool except one episode would have a new mission but there were four teams so the next episode would be about the same mission so the other two tems could do it. It got boring.

You ever been sitting on piece of cold slate rock, at several thousand feet in elevation, constantly exhausted due to the poor oxygen levels in the atmosphere at your altitude, trying to eat the nearly frozen beef [mechanically processed pressed cow leftovers] steak MRE when suddenly some asshole shoots at you and bullets spark off of some the rocks a few feet to your left and you decide fuck it, this meal can't get any worse and take a huge bite
BMQ (Basic military qual) and SQ (soldier qual) are neatly divided up here in the Canada. BMQ basically all that happens is drill instruction, rifle qualification, the MOPP stuff and getting yelled at all the time, so the really painful bits. SQ is all the fun stuff and the instructors actually treat you like a person, it is like a cool refreshing shower.

Oh goody, in order to get into OTS I have to hopefully get a medical waiver for being crazy. Awesome.

Yeah I figure lying my way in would be a very, very bad idea because if I don't get it fixed, something will come up where I break down or whatever and I don't want people's lives to be risked because of that.
Besides, I believe I made the mistake of mentioning depression as my reason for leaving in the first place. So that kind of screwed me over too. Getting my shit together and hoping for a waiver is my only.. hope.
I've been researching and it looks like a history of depression disqualifies you from a lot of things. Which is unfortunate. FBI, CIA, probably most state department jobs I want.

Carnival was a few weeks ago and everyone was dancing and jamming in the streets and I look over at the entrance to a dark alleyway, and he's there.

If this is a shot at me, you can't recover from only having one eye with time and therapy.

Trust me on that one
No I was more talking about how I resent that I can't join up.
And for the record, yes, time will aid in recovery.
Shouldn't it qualify you for a kickass eyepatch and an automatic officer's position
I thought that shit was standard procedure
