As a guild we do 10-mans. But I would like to do a 25-man once in a while. But it seems like DPSers are a lot easier to go on a pug than a tank or a healer.
Pugs are always looking for tanks. They just might be more strict on gear requirements.
I get shit for not having 30k health as a tank for Utgarde Keep still.
healing you tanking beasts was an adventure
haha I believe it!
The worms is the hardest by far though. Muldoon and I were just wordlessly taking the first guy off each other with great success I think, but those worms are tough to tank, acidmaw in particular, if you don't have the ability to call out in vent that if you don't get burned soon you're going to stop moving.
I'm def capped and have like 40% avoidance or so, am I just stacking stam at this point? How much health should I have, anyways?
Yes stack stam.
My rule is usually: blue gem, unless socket bonus is stamina, then you can do math on it. If it only costs you "half a gem" for +9stam, do it.
Look at the Spiked Deathdealers and Indestructible Plate Girdle. One blue, one red or yellow. I go with straight stam and, stam/defense stam/dodge, because the socket bonus is 9 stam, so I lose 6stam, but gain 10defense or 10dodge, which is probably just about worth it.
If it's only 6 stam, I usually pass on it (ie: t8.1 gloves=red socket +6stam). That'd be the same for 8.5 pants (red+yellow socket, 12 stam, which is 6/socket).

ok cool this is kinda what I'm doing. Of course Def cap comes first and I'm still relying on gems to keep me right at 540, then the rest is Stam stacking.

is wow-heroes where I would go to see what are upgrades and where I would get them
I went to another site that just showed me BiS, which doesn't really help anything cuz I aint gettin stuff from yogg-saron anytime soon
click the little arrow on the left of each item, and it will do a filtered wowhead search for you
sweet, I'll check that out when I get home.
all these fun websites are blocked at work.
You'll still have to figure out which of what it shows you is actually what you want, but you can sort by item level and see where everything comes from and stuff. So it's nice.

yeah, but that's still better than opening up wowhead and going "alright, maces..."
the badge thing is pretty overwhelming to start out with anyways, so it would be nice to know I can pass on some of that stuff if theres an item from dungeon/raid X I can go for instead.
As much as I don't want them to just make a stat called like, "tanking" and put it on everything, it does suck basically looking at new gear and thinking "oh, shield block, guess I'll pass on that."

I couldn't go to sleep for hours after it.
All shaking and giggling.

excited to kill bros
it's weird, isn't it
if by weird you mean totally correct
But you gem/enchant that shit at the first opportunity.
well too bad
The fact that so much of it is weighted by ilvl makes it so incredibly irrelevant.
Oh I'm well aware. I know your pain, eternally tied to an ilvl 200 trinket.
oh.
It's the only real reason Jules' paladin is over level 70, huh?
and also for those who can
Shield block value = blocking more damage on a block.
Hey, if you get enough you can solo old stuff and be invincible. It can also make trash damage really trivial.
It also increases the threat of a warriors highest threat ability, so I don't want to hear it.
Otherwise, yeah it seems pretty low on the chart of stats you want boosted.
