Anyone know of a good CD Ripper?

I need a CD Ripper for my dad because the one in PCDJ sucks. I would just use the one on Windows Media Player, but he has a lot of CDs that are purely for his work (regular songs set to stepping beats). He needs to be able to input the information relatively easily (ie, I have to make step by step directions) and it also needs to be able to pick up CD info from the internet for store bought CDs.

Does anyone know of a ripper that would be good for him, given the situation?

Well, Exact Audio Copy can get disc info from cddb/freedb, and you can set it up to interface with LAME, complete with tag making.

It seems you just click on the track name to name it, and the rest of the info is also visible in the main window. I assume LAME won't make up it's own info and use that :)

Alright, I tried EAC and it wouldn't do some of the things I need to do. It can't add artists names to the tracks seperate from "Various Artists." Thanks anyone Robaal.

Anyone else know of a good ripper?

CDex should do everything you want it to. You can add whatever info to the id3 tags you like, and it has CDDB lookup for commercial CDs.

    Also, it's free.

Along the same lines, what would you guys suggest for making an ISO from an audio cd? Preferably something $free.

Any CD burning program should be able to do that, CDBurnerXP Pro pops up as the first free one on google.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, guys. It looks like I'm going to go with Audiograbber, though. I don't like how long it takes to rip, but there's too much good to pass up there.

If a CD has songs from various artists, you could select the option 'Various Artists' from the 'Edit CD Informations' menu. This will enable split track names. The first part of each track name is then the artist name and the second part is the song title. Both parts are separated by the character '/'. For example :
    Metallica / Nothing Else Matters
