So recently (like, past week) I've been having some issues with my computer.
After it's been on for 8+ hours, even if it's just been idling, it will turn off randomly while I'm gaming (sometimes it takes 2 hours, sometimes it takes 5 minutes). Even if it was off all night, when I turn it on and game for awhile sometimes it does it then too.
It's not really turning off, actually; what happens is that sound stops coming from the speakers and the monitor turns off, and my mouse and keyboard stop working. However, the case lighting, fans, and temperature monitors stay on. It wasn't doing this for the first 2 months I had it; it then sat in storage in 2 boxes in a basement which doesn't flood and isn't humid and is about room temperature. I moved it into my new dorm Saturday, which is the day that all the trouble started (basically, the move triggered this).
I'm pretty sure it's not overheating, because the room is cool, and I keep the fans running high, and the temperatures in the BIOS don't get super high.
I'm going to call tech support tomorrow and see what's up with it, because it's getting annoying. So far the only times it's done this, by the way, have been in WoW; I haven't tried other games yet.
Anyone know what the heck is going on?
