I thought this entire year would be filled with the standard, required Illustration courses
but some-fucking-how I'm going to have an illustration elective free!
oh boy oh boy oh boy ... looking through the illustration electives just now, it doesn't look like I'll want to take any ILLU courses. BUT! But...I can almost positively substitute the ILLU elective for something in the Sequential Art dept., which has some great courses.....or if I beg and plead and am sneaky, maybe even an additional game design course! OR MAYBE AN ANIMATION COURSE. I can learn to rig.

FIBR 326 Advanced 3-D Fibers
This course is designed to allow students to pursue in more depth the ideas and techniques introduced in 3-D Fibers. Students investigate historical and contemporary uses of basketry techniques, felting, handmade paper and other nonloom-produced fiber constructions. Emphasis is placed on these media and techniques as vehicles for ideas and personal expression.
hahahahahaha
[edit] no but for real, I think the "History of Fibers" class would probably destroy me.
well actually you are, because you just read it prior to typing out that response
it would be more correct to say that you're unfamiliar with it
/semantics nazi
If you want to be super picky, then you shouldn't have said 'actually you are', because the verb ND used was in fact an affirmative 'am'. It would have been more clear for you to say 'actually you are aware', or 'actually you aren't [unaware]'. See? As it is, it's like if I said 'I swim', and you said 'actually you swim'.

Probably better to take an animation course before a rigging course, if you can, so you can work with some good rigs first (hopefully) and know what they look like and what they're supposed to be like to work with, so when you go to rig something yourself you know how the animator is going to want to use it, and will make the brain-destroying amount of work required to rig something decently actually seem worth it, instead of "wow I've spent XXXXXX amount of hours rigging this thing and I don't even want to look at it any more!...and now the class is over anyway so I don't have time to actually use it for anything even if I wanted to. (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((("
Hmm, that's a good point. I will need to look into that.
I wish I could talk to somebody in the faculty dept. who doesn't automatically shoot down my ideas and put me in a lower class because they think the one I suggested would be "too hard". I'm going to fucking go in there, slam my hand on the desk and be like, "DAMMIT I'M A SCIENTIST LET ME DO THIS" and then the department chair, shaking, will hand me the keys to the industrial laser room.
Seriously though, every time they're like "DURR HURR HURR" and put me in a class where I'm bored out of my skull and we go over what "RGB" means. Maybe I should tell them "look, if I get a bad grade in that class, it'll be my fault, okay? And P.S., that won't be happening."

I am again going to have to suggest the Harrison Ford in Patriot Games pin-to-the-wall-and-"I WILL FUCKING DESTROY YOU!" move.

You see, the problem was you weren't supposed to wear the shirt while sewing the button on.
