Give it a few months to a year it will be F2P is no time. This game has distroyed it self due to the bad PR stunts they have been pulling since CB. This game cant not and will nto survive.

So are they going to lock down their boards to subscribers once it goes live? Granted this will only make it marginally better and give the furries room to breed, but you take what you can get.

Akinos, if this WASN'T a marketing ploy feel free to pass it on.
It's actually quite effective, especially in PvE. Works like the Sniper attack, only you don't get interrupted and you can move around while it's charging. Oh, it does more damage, too.
Heh yeah, I've been struggling to find a use for sniper attack on my munitions character. The spike is... OK I guess, but the DPS is terrible. The range is nice but in PvE you still barely ever get more than 1 shot off before the NPCs reach you, and in PvP I doubt you would even get that. Plus the safety of range is basically obsolete with a defensive passive -- you may as well just jump in and rip away with higher dps abilities. Can't really think of a good way to fix it that wouldn't make it overpowered though. Maybe cause tap to make your character go prone, rooted (or heavy snare), and stealth with sniper shots only having a % chance to take you out of it (or not removing it at all, like the sigils).
On a different note, I played around with ice and telekinesis last night. Ice is neat, though I was terrible at it. Ego blades was fun, but it seems you really really need Id blades to function. Anyone played around with using the non-Ego Form ways of obtaining this? It's not a bad passive per-se, but it is rather specialized and would really limit the ego blades use with other frameworks. And of course taking Ego Form drastically reduces the importance of the procs -- you may as well start with Telepathy because it's energy builder is an ego resistance debuff while kinetic darts' Id procing advantage would go completely to waste.

It just sounds like human error to me. Just sounds too convoluted to be a marketing ploy.
Sniper style attacks are inherently better with offensive passives, which make the alpha strike strong enough to clear out all of the henchmen if you do it right. If you're using a defensive or energy passive, you might as well not bother with something that completely lacks a tap activation, as sitting around for 3 seconds each shot sucks.
So I decided to run through the tutorial again to see how much more xp you get in it. I've run into a problem where I can't even enter the Champions HQ it just don't do anything when I try to enter.

If I were a gaming company with an official forums, I would seriously consider hiring on the mods here at least as consultants. This is about the best run web board I have ever seen, and I do wish more gaming companies would clean up a bit.

If this were another company like Sony or Acclaim I might have agreed its possible. It sounds like something that could so easily backfire on you that it makes little sense to plan something so risky unless you already have a record of trying bad PR stunts, which Cryptic doesn't.
The explanation they have given is very reasonable and there's no reason to doubt it unless you are just the kind of person who wants to see conspiracy in anything done by a big company.
This board is run well because it's a bit of lord of the flies here. We're left to our own devices until we set the island on fire, and then the british royal navy shows up...

I wish aspects were more appealing. Damage on activation? I guess that's neat, but the thing is an interruptible and permanent buff. The procs on some abilities just don't seem to work at all. I've only ever had anything proc off of Iron Cyclone and Condemn, and the proc rates are just terribad. I wish I had thought to try it at multiple ranks to see if maybe the procs on certain abilities only become available later or maybe the proc rates on Iron Cyclone become good enough for me to not feel like I'm wasting a power slot to get at Supernatural Power.
Am I just uninformed on this? Are these aspects better than I'm realizing?

I never paid attention to how effective they were. I just liked Aspect of the Dragon's aura.
What I wish was that they did SOMETHING that wasn't specific to the Supernatural framework. They are the only power I've found that have absolutely no purpose if you aren't using the framework's other powers. Again, this is because I like the aura and wish it was useful in some way to non-supernatural characters.

Yeah, but it's a steep buy in for that one effect. Possibly useful if you have the power points to burn. I know a couple of my builds do as I usually make fairly narrow character builds that have excess power points I don't know what to do with.

Its certainly true that lifetime subs now have the air of a rare thing - and I bet they are already talking about how they can cash in on it, but to assume they went through the process of planning this specific situation sounds out there - for Cryptic. Like I said, for specific other companies known for shenanigans like this it would make perfect sense.
Even as someone who bought a lifetime sub, I was surprised how many other people just on these boards said they were too - and we can be a cynical group. Multiply that to the unwashed masses of anyone else interested and I can see demand being higher then they anticipated. The limited amount sold is a protection for themselves to ensure longevity of the product. It also disproves the notions people had about Cryptic cashing in now and then dropping the product. If they were going to do that there is no reason to limit lifetime subs.
Yeah if Cryptic wanted to cash in fast they would have made unlimited lifetime subs and gotten a ton of money and then ran away into the night cackling.
Any chance people would be willing to reply with which names they love, hate, and how much they're committing to Champions? (Life-time/6-month/Pre-order/Wait & See/Fuck You I'm Playing Aion/olol [Statesman/Roper])

Also, W.A.N.G. sounds like something a 13-year old would giggle about. I'm not saying I'm above it, but I had my fill of penis humor for my lifetime when I saw the montage of dicks at the end of Superbad while I was out on a first date.

Agreed! Towards the later levels, a lot of powers become redundant and unecessary. You only really need one block and multiple passives are nice if you're planning multiple builds, but not all characters or frameworks are suitable for multiple builds. My munitions character was still using Shotgun at level 40 and cleaning up all over town.
Like: Lookouts, W.A.N.G. if we can come up with something wittier than We Are Nice Guys or World Anti-Negativity Group and actually name the guild that and not the acronym.
Dislike: Acronyms that the server doesn't understand, Who really is going to know what G.I.F.T stands for? I'd rather have it spelled out in the guild name, but since Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory wouldn't be allowed, we might as well now do it.

I'm not sure if it's a flaw with the system or not. It seems like you get your "main" abilities within the first 10-20 levels and everything after that is just extras. When I leveled my character from 16 to 40 I the last few powers I picked I didn't really plan on using. Maybe it'll look different when I'm actually leveling at the proper rate and have time to practice with the newer abilities and work them into my gameplan.

Like: anything with an acronym. It seems to fit so well in a superhero world. We don't even have to figure out what it means imo.
Dislike: Millennium City Hotsteppers
LoL Summoner: infobrains | XBL: cwap4brains | PSN: infobrains
Don't particularly care what the guild name is.
