I've played a couple games with Nunu. I think I've found a new love in PuGs.
except when others play him, because they almost always fail if they're on my team. then again, you could usually say that for at least 4 members of a given team.
i've been on a gangplank kick the last few days and I don't know why I don't see him in every game he's so awesome. Parlay gets him so much gold he makes a great carry, and raise morale + his ult seem to make him indispensable for group fights
are you going to force this to fisticuffs, feldorn?
don't make the yeti angry.
With Nunu - and "support" characters in general - I like to build for 40% cooldown strictly via items as it lets you Blood Boil three people at a time and place a 4-second slow on someone every 3.6 seconds.:
===
Mana Manipulator (spawn)
Sorc Boots
Catalyst --> Banshee's Veil
Glacial Shroud
--> Soul Shroud
--> Frozen Heart
(I push Frozen Heart higher versus attack-heavy teams)
Additional items: Void Staff, Guardian Angel, Abyssal Scepter, Rylai's Scepter (I don't see this that often), Archangel's Staff (I guess)

Once you have 2k mana, reaching the cooldown cap without a buff gives you lots of freedom in skill-spamming.

Pubs are the worst...
The second one went better (at least I had a positive K/D), but two or three of our champs didn't even hit 18 by the end... At one point Teemo and me (Nunu) were at 17/18 and the rest of our team was like 14/15...At least at the end we killed that PoS Cho'Gath. That's what was important. He even had Guardian Angel.
I've had better luck with solo queues than arranged lately. It kinda bums me out cause I prefer playing with PA people. Not having as much fun as I did in beta.

For me, a lot of it has to do with the game being "out" while having nearly the exact same features as beta had. The store, ranked matches, draft mode, Treeline in queue.. all these things should be out already, IMO and now they can't use "it's beta!" as an excuse.
Since it's not beta anymore my expectations are higher and I enjoy the game a bit less because of it.
I don't know, maybe the ELO's are finally starting to balance out or something but I've won more games with PA people then i've lost over the last few days, which has greatly increased my enjoyment (i don't care about winning that much but always losing did suck) as for the lack of features.. i'm holding judgement on that until the store launches next week, once they start charging money for things the lack could aggravate me, but for now its all free and all good
Just was in a game where the Master Yi on my team went 42/10/5. Ok the other team was terrible... it took them forever to win even though it was 3 v 5, but I was still impressed.
I said the exact same thing in my last PA game. Add in the frustration over the score and having to reboot the client after every match and beta definitely was more fun.
I wouldn't mind it so much if I hadn't shelled out the $30. As it stands I've spent $30 for less features than beta had. (Remember runes?) Sadly I'm not even going to get my money's worth out of the double exp bonus since I've only had the interest to play two games in the past week and change. No way I'll hit 30 by the end of the month.
Fairly bored with the game at this point, only assuaging my regretted expenditure by telling myself I got $30 worth of enjoyment during beta.
The worst are the fanboys on the official boards like, "WELL YOU CHOSE TO SPEND $30 IT'S NOT RIOT'S FAULT." Like, motherfucker, they released a retail product that's fucking worse than their beta. You sell a retail product you sort of have an obligation to provide something, and if you don't, it's not somehow my fucking fault. I'm not the dipshit company that didn't test a large part of their system until a couple days before release. (WHY STORE NOT WORK??? HALP!!)
Yeah I think the retail package was really a mistake. I don't think it was worth the money to begin with but the game itself is way too incomplete to be sold at retail. They should have left it free to play for a while and then come out with a retail box months down the road.
The matchmaking issues are fair though, it wouldn't be right if you were more likely to win for being in a premade so they have to add the ratings boost on the assumption that you'll be better than an ordinary pub. Some of our players really need to work on the whole staying alive thing tbh.
Test server is available to join in to test the store, check in general discussion to join in. Also - I'm going to give live-streaming a shot for some of the games we play next time. So others can watch.
As the level of people I've been playing against has increased, I've been thinking more and more about tryn and actually surviving against a coordinated team.
this is what I'm considering right now. Switch out last whisper with wit's end if the enemy team is magic damage heavy.
Order of acquisition is roughly left to right, depending on the situation.
I've also been messing around with Nasus. I've read all of the guides, but coming off Tryn he just feels so...impotent. Against dedicated tanks he usually does poorly.

I dunno, the warmogs and starks both seem kinda counter productive for tryn, you generally don't want to be regenerating/stealing too much health since the more health you have the less damage you do. Really against a well coordinated team tryn is fragile enough that unless you stack nothing but health/armor you're going down the second they target you and you don't have undying rage up anyway, so it makes more sense to stack nothing but damage/crit/attack speed items to do the most damage you can in your immortal 6 seconds. The only armor i'd consider for him is guardian angel
Are people having less fun now than in beta because of the recent shift from "let's have fun" to "we better start winning games, stop trying new heroes"?

ah yes. what about...hm...take out fervor, replace with atmas? that syncs up with the health increase. i can deal more damage, and have a bit more survivability should shit hit fan.
I still try to play LoL every once in a while, but i hit a point where I'd have a 8/1 k/d ratio and my team would have a 1/40. have the Elo's balanced out yet or is it still a crap shoot where I'll get punted in to a game with 4 noobs who run in because they see a hero with shiny lights?

I realize it's subject to change, but can someone post the price list? I'm interested how good a rune page I can get with ~9000 IP.
Installed it. They give you 10k IP/RP and everything costs 100 points so no cost info.
Only thing of value to be learned from it (which may have been known but I didn't know) is that runes have a level requirement. T1 = all, T2 = 10+, T3 = 20+.
Also they have skins for Nunu, Ashe, Evelynn, Cho'Gath, Taric, Blitzcrank, Twitch, and Katarina.
Oh, and it's buggy and has no chance of coming out tomorrow.

The whole point of Tryndamere is that he can go full glass cannon while still surviving a fight no matter how many people beat on him. The enemy won't want to focus him first in a team fight once they realize it won't result in a kill until it's too late, so tank items are a waste of his talents. He should go raw damage IMO.

Zek has it right. Stack the crap out of crit and damage items, get low health, and then just go berserk on people. I've seen Tryndameres obliterate everybody and anybody (especially 1v1.) while this occurs. Just remember that you are technically not immortal (Just unkillable - And can thus be kited.)

I haven't gotten past Nashor's yet
