Does anyone have any tips for getting the full 3 medals on the combat challenge rooms? I can usually get 2 if I chain together batarangs and ground takedowns, but I have a hard time distinguishing the knife/stun rod guys from the normal ones in challenges like shock and awe(extreme) where there's a fuckton of thugs. or I'll get blindsided by some jackoff with a pipe.
The guys who run and grab stuff to throw at you don't help either, but it just occured to me that I can batarang them and they'll drop it.
The predator rooms are fun though. Getting the medals is like one big puzzle.
Maybe I just suck at combat, but I find the Freeflow Challenges to be way harder than the Predator ones. The best I've gotten on the first two Freeflow rooms is only a single medal.
I'm missing two joker teeth in the old mansion and I've already destroyed the two on the upper level of the wardens office, what's the most likely location for the last two?
Anything less doesn't matter because I'll simply reset.
Not taking damage in a round = 500 points
Not taking damage in all 4 rounds = 5000 points (1 time only bonus)
So basically if you take 0 damage in a challenge mode, it's +7000 points.
Defeat all enemies in 1 unbroken combo = 1000 points.
Basically, aim for 9 variants as much as possible. If I get the 9 variant bonus twice, I'm usually a shoe in for 3 stars. The no damage bonus was enough to get me 3 stars on the first combat challenge but I'm unsure about the rest.
Here's my basic "plan" of attack:
Stand still and wait for 1 idiot to charge and attack you. Counter attack him (+1 variant), if you didn't knock him down continue hitting him with regular attacks (+2 variant), counter the next guy that comes close. Cape stun early unless there are blade guys around... if so aim it at them (+3). As soon as you hit 5 hits, use the bat throw on an enemy (if possible, toss him off a ledge/at other people) (+4).
After that get into a grove of using double-A to evade (+5) -> batarang (+6), then double A -> bat claw (+7). You have options at this point to either go for a ground takedown (provided you knocked down nearly EVERYONE)(+8) or combo a guy who's being pulled in by your bat claw. If anyone is still standing, you have a very large window to cancel batarang throw into counter, but a smaller window for bat claw. You'll need to build up a combo to 10+ (assuming you used bat throw at exactly 5) to use a ground takedown (+9).
You're invincible to damage when using the bat throw and the takedown special moves. You can also factor this into your game plan. You are NOT invincible when doing a ground takedown. If you want to do the faster version of the ground takedown, aim it at an enemy farther away or one that's getting up. You'll usually the bat flip into face/stomach stomp instead of the stomp -> fist to face strike.
Best way to deal with knife/stun rod guys is to use your throw on them early or otherwise focus on them. This obviously gets harder the higher level challenge. Also, if you don't manage to get a variant 9/flow bonus/dark knight bonus on the first round of the challenge, I'd consider simply restarting.
For the "Mano a mano" trophy, is there a challenge room I can do this on?
Yeah, it was the 4th round of the... 3rd/4th fighting challenge? I think.

This game thanks to the patient interviews they actually made the Riddler seem more like a villian rather than the Oh...its him guy.
His tapes almost make him sound like Jigsaw from the saw movies. He makes these eleabroate death traps to weed out the stupid and thinks that those that survive would thank him for making such a fun game. I almost want to see a series like the Long Halloween where Riddler goes on a rampage killing the ignorant and the stupid. If the person survives Riddler moves on to the next victem. If the person dies he leaves a riddle that would eventually build up over time leading Batman to his location. With a good enough writer I'm sure it be less lame than my discription sounds.
For the "Mano a mano" trophy, is there a challenge room I can do this on?
This would be best in the story in the
Sewers after you destroy the titan pumps. He sends a guy after you. Stand right in front of the electric fields and he'll hit them before he can stop and take damage. Then you can whomp on him for a bit then ride on him to hit the goons joker sends to help. If you don't use any batarangs and ride on him and knock over 10 goons You'll get both Titan achievments in the same room
The Croc's lair sucks. It's just genuinely unfun. Quicktime events! Whoops! You're dead! Have fun walking slowly back from your last checkpoint.
late but: I don't think that was a QTE
They're not QTE's in the strictest sense, but any time he shows up it's "mash this button or you're dead", or "press this button or you're dead".
croc details:
The last segment where there's the cutscene and camera change, you have to hit A exactly when it pops up or else you're doing the entire section before it over again. If you hold it before you gain control again, even if you're holding the control stick to the left, you still die because he's right fucking behind you and walking just doesn't cut it.
Feel free to disagree, I just thought that it felt very uninspired and boring. I also don't like Croc very much as a character, so take that as you will.
Ivy's
fight is pretty much straight out of Resident Evil 4. It's almost exactly designed like the last boss of Contra 3, which inspired the design for Resident Evil 4, that Napoleon wanna-be going all super-ridiculo-monster on Leon.
I actually liked the Croc's Lair section because it really had me on the edge of my seat and I enjoyed the atmosphere, I think it may have been the fact that I was shocked at the AA version of the character and how it was so creepy especially when compared to TAS Croc.
It's the one that says something like "Remember the Wayne's, how can you forget!" or whatever. The thing is, I think I know what I have to scan to solve it (the memorial bench) but for some reason, no matter how close I get to it won't let me scan it, it keeps saying "Subject too small".

The tension was palpable. I didn't have a lot of difficulty with the section - died a few times establishing the rules (once on the timing of the batarang, once on the "press X to run" where I'd missed it, and once on the "flee from Croc" section where the camera change fucked me up.)
At first I thought I was supposed to lure him back to the glass floor right away. I enjoyed the race back to it later though.

My girl friend and I both agree that this felt like an old fashioned game-gear Batman fight. I quite enjoyed it.

Having just bought this, I'd say right now my only complaint is that, during those open room fights with the gargoyles, I don't feel very "Batmanesque". Right now my only form of getting through them is to simply do as many of those inverted takedowns as possible. Trying to do anything else just gets me shot up like a sad little rookie.

speaking of the riddles, I just finished them off a few minutes ago. I quite like how it ended.
I'm totally cursing myself for not destroying all the Joker teeth while I was playing the campaign. Going back and trying to find them now is very, very tedious.
19/20 in the mansion and I've already gone through it at least three times...but I can't give up, you won't get the best of me Riddler!
Just wrapped it up, great game but I wish it had been a bit longer. Hopefully Rocksteady gets to work asap on a sequel.
No first they got to have the mandatory money fight, followed by the money hat building contest, and finally take a power nap on a pile of money with many beautiful naked women. Then...and only then will they be ready for a sequel.
It's too bad the music isn't more like The Dark Knight. That would be pretty rad.
No custom soundtrack support?
There is of course, 360 has it standard. PS3 too now I think.
But it's so situational, it's hard to do with custom soundtracks. Sometimes I want to run down a corridor and hear that awesome theme song from Dark Knight.
Or I stand on top of a tower, the moon behind me and I just instantly want to hear the B:TAS theme.
Hell,I've been humming the B:TAS theme almost 80% of the game.

You said earlier that you got two of the teeth upstairs in the Warden's office right? You know there are three of them up there. One is on the opposide side of the filing cabinets the other two are on. At least if I'm remembering correctly.

Yeah, I know what you mean. There's no way to tell it you want action music when there's action, etc.
I was thinking about putting my keyboard next to me so I can just press a button and my pc plays the "DUM DUM DUM DUUUUUUUUUUUU" of the B:TAS theme every time Batman does anything.
Zip up to a tower = "DUM DUM DUM DUUUUUUUUUUU"
Batman is shown in cutscene = "DUM DUM DUM DUUUUUUUUUU"
Batman hits a dude in the face = "DUM DUM DUM DUUUUUUUUUU"
I swear I heard about 3-4 notes of the TAS theme when I got the explosive gel.
May have just been me though.

Alright... I'm missing one riddler statue before I go to the final area. Arkham West, one statue, floating to the south of the door to Arkham East. This is fucking killing me. :P
picked it up today and only just put it down, fucking goddamn awesome.
dont think i understand how the riddles work tho and combat at the moment for me just seems to be me walking up slowly to large groups of gentlemen, mashing on the buttons and shouting "im the goddamn batman!" alot to get through the fights.. i might be doing it wrong, or not.
Some of the combat takedowns are so brutal.
I used it on one of the stun baton guys and broke his arm, took his baton, kicked his legs out from under him and then jammed the stun baton right into his groin.
Geez Batman.
I cringed the first time I used one of the unlockable throws and Batman broke the guy's leg
what the fuck, Batman
that's kind of excessive
Crime doesn't pay, Chum. I'm the Goddamned Batman.

I'm mulling over the idea of playing again on the hard difficulty setting. I just want to know, what makes it hard?
baddies dont get the flashy things above their heads to tell you to counter, they will look up on occasion in the predator rooms, and 2-3 automatic rifle bursts will kill you

I dunno, I heard some pretty good music, and some of the Intensive Care music has a similar drone to the Joker music from TDK
