Also, has anyone kept a full combo for the challenges involving Titans? I can either avoid getting hit, or get long combo chains, but I can't do both.
I would advise against trying to do both. I don't know about the challenge rooms, but in all the story titan encounters on hard, there's a small enough window for batarang + evade that you're usually shit out of luck if you were trying to do something of value when the charge grunt sounds. This is added to the fact that your windows of safety are different depending on whether you're dodge rolling or vaulting over someone. It's pretty common that you don't have a choice on which you'll do, and with a fair number of mooks about I'm finding it almost as common that I can't anticipate which will happen until I'm on either the other side of the titan or the ground.

Stun baton guys I find easier than knife guys... I have an easier time jumping over people than timing a cape stun. I usually try to avoid knife guys until I have a combat takedown ready and then try to him them with it. If a knife guy runs at me first I'll stun him and start my combo on his face.
One nice thing about cape stun is that, unlike strike and counter, it has timing that stays absolutely the same. That means that it's actually easier, sometimes, to counter someone standing in front of you with cape stun, especially if there's more than one attacker.
so finished shock and awe on extreme and got my 100% achievement. I ended up finishing the last round with the game fading to black and the "game over" screen so yeah... cutting it close :P
I realized my past problem was that enemies were picking up batons dropped on the PREVIOUS round so instead of facing 2 knifes/2batons, I'd get 2 knifes/3-4 batons (and if I was really unlucky, a dude with a gun). I'm not sure if fighting near the gun locker in the 3rd round was the best idea, but it seemed to "work" okay so whatever.
I also had more luck using throw + ledges to get rid of knife/baton guys. The special takedown on baton guys is INCREDIBLY long, a simple heave ho was much faster. I got stuck with a few too many baton takedowns in my final run, but still finished in time.
Now I just need to finish this on Hard for my 1000/1000.
Three different guys with three different walls is so fucking hard. I did it once, got the zipline kick through a window, and then died to the last guy. Haven't even gotten the wall medal since then.
So this batman game may have sold me on comic books. I was never really into them, but after playing the game, and being subjected to walls filled with comics every moday, something in me snapped and I went down to check out some batman on paper. The owner pointed me towards The Long Halloween as a decent place to start (he mentioned Year 1 might be better, but they didn't have it in stock). I also left with "The Savage Sword of Conan: 1". I am doomed.
Now that I've beaten the game I finally feel safe coming back into this thread. Thread search turned up nothing about Secure Access so:
In the Secure Access room in the basement of the Medical Facility, there's a wide elevator-looking door on the north wall that I can get into. It's blocked off by a security gate and doesn't even look like a locked door in detecto-vision, but it's definitely a door on the map. Was that part of a cutscene and I just don't remember?

You need to make sure you do the walls first. I don't know of the fastest way to do it, but the assured way I did it was this:
When you start, turn around and go through the grate. Follow it through and prepare the wall you find. Go out and walk right across to the next room. Crouch and zip up onto the roof of the small room next to the elevator (the one with the windows). Prepare that ceiling with explosives. Then zipline across to the room next to the guard who "guards the door" and prepare that wall. From here, you can zip straight up and take a vent across the room and get back down to ground level. Get to a spot where you can see the first wall you prepared.
Go into detective mode and watch the guard patrolling near the explosively armed ceiling, when he starts walking back into the room, throw a sonic batarang towards the first wall you armed. If timed right, a mook should walk within range of that first wall at the same time as the guard walks under the ceiling. The third guard is stationary, so you don't need to worry about him. Set off your explosives.
Now everytime I've down this, the guards go and check on the guy who is in the room with the windows. You should be able to get the zipline through the window no problems. Once these two medals are done, the third is rather simple.
I hope that isn't too confusing of an explanation.
Got 100% and Perfect Knight today. Time to start my hard play through. This'll be the first game I 1000/1000.

Looking back with the titans and such I'm kinda surprised Agmadala never made an apperance. Big guy, bad temper, would punch you through a wall if you asked for a sip of his Kool Aid. He was rumored but I think that might have been from the first tease of the Titan goons in earlier trailers cause the first one looked 'similar'.
Hope they include Hatter and Ventriloquist in the next one. They are some of my favorite Bat Rouges who are grossly underwritten alot of the time.
Ventriloquist would be AWESOME for the Nolan-verse if they would have him make puppets out of dead mobsters to personafy the "Scarface" voice in his head.
Just got back from GS Managers conference yesterday, and when WB and the Batman devs were showing off the PC version of Batman (which looks alot better than the console versions graphically, due to the added terrain effects like shrapnel and more cloth movement and whatnot), they got asked about the Joker DLC and if it would ever come outside of PS3.
Their near exact words:
"Joker is a LIFETIME exclusive to the PS3 for Arkham Asylum."
They explained that they wanted to focus on 1 version of the game to be the superior one, and due to the Blu-ray allowing them to do things like adding the behind the scenes stuff to the disc and whatnot, they went with the PS3 version.
They also said its only the beginning, and that more PS3 exclusive DLC is in the works.
Also:
9-17 - New challenge maps DLC (both systems)
9-24 - New challenge maps DLC (PS3 exclusives)
They had names already, but I forget them.
Oh, and they basically confirmed that a sequel is coming. (when asked about it they said they couldnt officially say anything, but "You can pretty much assume at this point(or something like that)", and later said something about "in a sequel" when asked about something I dont remember).

Thanks, got it! I was trying a floor panel repeatedly instead of the lower wall, this worked much better!

I don't believe for a second they chose to do that without some sort of monetary incentive from Sony, especially when it comes to DLC (assuming it's being sold).

Grrr...
Is there a problem with this?
Apparently the one version of the game they focused on wasn't the PS3 version, it was the NTSC PS3 version, 'cause PAL PS3 versions aint got those videos. Which is especially annoying considering Rocksteady's British.
Yeah, I'm sure WB are fucking ecstatic with the scores and positive reception the game's getting. It must be a first for them. Hopefully it'll fix some/all of the problems I listed a page or two back.
As for the exclusive DLC, I didn't like it when it happened with Fallout 3 (though those were only time exclusive) and I still don't like it now.
I don't mind exclusive DLC. If I didn't have a PS3 it would not be enough to push me over the edge on buying one, and since I do it is just one more data point that makes making the platform decision easier.

I can't understand why they did this at all. Someone, somewhere, at some point said "We should remove these videos." to which everyone else apparantly replied "Oh yeah! Good idea!"
I know that they're just bonus stuff, so it's not really worth getting that annoyed about, but stupid crap like this happens on PAL releases all the time, and there doesn't normally seem to be any reason to it.
I don't believe for a second they chose to do that without some sort of monetary incentive from Sony, especially when it comes to DLC (assuming it's being sold).
No one says that there wasn't any monetary incentive.
The Scarecrow challenge map is so damn much fun. I'm currently ranked something like 246 and I know I can push it higher. It's really the best map to play if you want to learn to get better at combat too. Only being able to take one hit makes your senses super heightened. I can see myself playing this one for quite awhile.
Began my hard mode play through too. This is honestly the first game ever where I've felt compelled to play through again on a higher difficulty.

I am getting the PC version from an online source shortly
Somehow the fucking space restrictions from the online version prevent me from getting content? Fuck fuck fuck I hate lolsony so fucking much.
Right. Because when Sony does it it is totally different than when Microsoft or Nintendo does it.
You are absolutely correct in your sarcastic comment
But excuse me if I can't find some fanboy bullshit in my post supporting Microsoft and Nintendo that deserved your wise retort
You singled out "lolsony", indicating that it was somehow different than anything any other company does. You didn't say you hated moneyhatting or restricted dlc, you said you hated "lolsony". Not even Sony, but "lolsony" which comes across as pretty heavy fanboy bullshit.

Even if that weren't the case, I don't see why developers don't do it more often. Give the PS3 a little extra stuff (the Joker DLC is the very definition of "a little extra stuff", it's ten challenge rooms with leaderboards and that's it), simply because third-party games don't normally sell as well on PS3 as they do on 360.
As soon as this Joker DLC was announced, on Amazon at least (which are the only sales figures we can guess on at the moment), the PS3 version shot ahead of the 360 version's sales and stayed there all the way, even now after releasing still ranking ahead (see Bestsellers here). It's a smart move to make sure both versions of your game sells, because really, this likely isn't going to hurt the 360 version's sales as much as it helps the PS3 version's sales.
EDIT: Has a multiplatform release ever sold more on the PS3 than 360? Could we potentially see the first?
I don't have any numbers, but I would not be surprised if Burnout Paradise sold better on PS3 because Criterion said publicly that they developed for PS3 first and it is available via PSN for instant purchase (I don't think it is a XBLM Game on Demand yet).
Ventriloquist would be AWESOME for the Nolan-verse if they would have him make puppets out of dead mobsters to personafy the "Scarface" voice in his head.
They definitely don't need to go for the more cartoony or themed villains. Leave out the Killer Moths and the Mad Hatters, give us Catwoman and maybe a Jokerz gang led by Harley Quinn.
Rumble in the Jungle(extreme) is all that stands between me and 100%. It keeps kicking my ass, however.
I usually do ok unil the 3rd and 4th rounds. Especially the 4th, where trying to juggle 2 titans and henchmen attempting to open the gun locker tends to get me killed. Anyone have any tips? Should I not be worrying about taking down the titans as much as I should be about watching my ass?
Since it's on the UE3 Engine, there is a good chance that there's already a PC version of the Joker content, since if it was added in like a mod or mutator or whatever, you'd make the content on a PC and cook it for the PS3. On the other hand, maybe someone will go through the trouble of ripping the content off of a PS3 drive if it isn't encrytped, and then using the mod tools open up said mod file and extract it, and repack for the PC.
Just finished off getting every single Riddler trophy and destroying all the teeth and scanning all the Spirit of Arkham rocks. Now all that stands between me and 100% are the challenge rooms, so it's too bad I'm terrible at them...
