I just gloss over those posts now. This was after a conversation in which it took Podly two pages and about fifteen posts to explain what the "top" and "bottom" of an innings in baseball are. I hold out no hope for his posts on anything more complex ever being comprehensible.
Podly's very, very smart, but he's utterly lost in the pretense of the philosophy department. It's like going into an opium den - even if you're not smoking, if you spend any amount of time there you're going to get a little high.
1.) Life has no purpose other than what we give it
This is specious logic. If life has no purpose other than what we give it, then the purpose of life is thereby to give it purpose. If this is true, then two does not necessarily follow from one. I would agree with you, but I would also say that two is not as open as you make it to be, and three is outright incorrect.
I would say that's specious logic, Podly. We could very easily not give life purpose, in which case why should the purpose of life be to give it purpose?
That is not a logical proposition. Logic gives no propositions, it is the coherence and inference of propositions. For your point that we could not give live a purpose, I would argue that the existential structure of angst reveals the purpose-driven nature of Dasein in its suspension of purposelessness. cf §40 of Being and Time
The fact that what is threatening is nowhere characterizes what Angst is about. Angst "does not know" what it is about which it is anxious. But "nowhere" does not mean nothing; rather, region in general lies therein, and disclosedness of the world in general for essentially spatial being-in. Yes, in fact I finished my Kittycore run (29 days) and my next run I got down to a 13 day ascension. I ascended to a Sauceror last night and unfortunately did not manage to hit level 4 on Day 1 so I couldn't use my Agua da Vidas. So it's going a bit slow...I wager 15 to 16 days.
I have Pastamastery, Mad Lootin' Skillz, and Advanced Cocktailcrafting HC permed now.

edit: Oh, and I got my Rock Lobster! But he kind of sucks, and now the economy for floaty sand is in flux thanks to the geodes, so I don't personally see the value anymore.
Also the computer on my desk continually insists that the network cable is unplugged. Plugging the network cable into another floor jack makes it work, but then my phone extension stops working because the network thinks I'm at a different desk.
This suggests to me that there is a problem with either the floor jack itself, or the network configuration somewhere at the switch/router level. But no, IT have to "troubleshoot" the individual machine first. I gave up on that call twenty minutes in because I have shit to do.
Currently I have phone cables stretched across to another desk, and it's really only a matter of time before someone objects to this. Fortunately, I never actually made it to my desk today.

Really, Shakiras one redeeming quality is that she looks good and can dance. She doesn't even look fantastic. Makes me sad for all the people who are either:
A. More talented but not getting a break. (This is a profoundly large category)
B. Hotter but not getting a break. (This category is still fairly large)
