Unfortunate news: cRPG will not update to the website on our server. I've switched it back to native mode, and am going to talk to the mod creator so our server will update.
If you want to work cRPG (which you should!), hop on one of the official servers and start working. Best advice is: get a shield ASAP, and stick next to a guy in plate. Shield him from arrows as best you can, and let him kill.
I think Anon should make a new thread with the server info in it and such, as this thread is quite old.
You act like I am not right here constantly reading this thread, I already added the steam group to the list, shoot me the server IP and I will add it.
Since the server browser doesn't use IP's, the server name is "Arcadians_Battle" Shouldn't be to hard to find.

Cool, added to the top.
Also updated some of the stuff now that I am no longer busy at work. If you guys have anything else you want added feel free to let me know.
You should just switch the server over to the cRPG mode btw, it's such a better experience than the base game play.
Is there a single player component to Warband? I thought it was just like a deathmatch mode.
Very indepth single player actually. Also, more then deathmatch, there's CTF, battle (one death per player DM), normal respawn DM, and siege (where one team tries to capture the castle from the other team).
Baaalls. I didn't get it because I didn't much relish the idea of multiplayer. But the Polished Landscape mod only has collision detection for trees in warband, apparently. Now I regret skipping the sale.
I know its mentioned in the OP, but its kind of a footnote and I didn't notice it for the longest time, so I want to make sure others don't make the same mistake.
All you new guys, for playing single player, consider taking a look at TweakMB, it lets you make a very large variety of adjustments to the game, and is compatible with both M&B Vanilla and Warband.
Some examples of what it can do (and what I use it for) are increasing the relationship rewards from Nobles giving you tasks, increasing the size of the battlefield (so I have time to setup my troops before the enemy cavalry smashes into them), cutting down the length of mercenary contracts from 3 months to a single month, and making it so siege equipment builds faster.
It can do a hell of a lot more too, everything from change how much you can bet in tournaments, how much ammo each inventory slot gives you, changing how fast troops eat up your food, changing how much money villages, castles, and towns can earn you, etc etc etc. Tons of stuff you can tweak.

Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you succeed in doing this, tell me how.
Can we stop voting for Khergits in multi please? It always boils down to hide in a building or die.
If it becomes a big problem, I can remove Khergits kingdom from the faction lists. I just need to find out which one they are, but I'll need to replace them, so...suggestions?
Edit: I can also spin up the server in any game mode. Right now I have it set to battle because battle is easy and fast paced. I mostly play cRPG, so until I can get the server linked with them (so they update the work we do on the server), I won't be on there much. Except Siege, I love siege.
The whole prospect of starting as a half-naked farmer with stones and a pitchfork and slowly building your way up is... errr, dunno.
Shit be expensive in cRPG, man.
It takes an average of 10 levels to start getting proper gear. It really helps if you buy a shield, and just stick with the group. Also, plan out your character a head of time. If you want to use bows, only buy the bow. Don't blow money on dumb shit you'll end up selling at a loss. This doesn't mean don't buy low end gear so you have something you can upgrade from. Just don't buy a 200 gold sword, if you never intend on using it because you want to use that bow.
Overall I like vanilla Warband multiplayer better just because it rewards being good instead of playing forever. I mean, usually if you play a lot you get better anyway, but people who have been playing for a while don't really need an additional leg up on new players.
Plus I like how vanilla rewards kill streaks, because those are the only times you can pay for the super shiny expensive armor.
Pfff, samurais were no fun when it came to sword fighting. They would never block because it was better to die than chip your super expensive sword. Weenies.

Wait how is this not awesome.
Because then the fights are over in like two seconds! Boooooring.

Didn't they mostly just use spears most of the time anyway?
It really depends a lot on the era. That's a lot to get into in a thread off topic.
Onin no Ran was based during the Onin war, though. I found one being made for warband that takes place during the sengoku jidai but it's incomplete and the guy making it doesn't seem to want to adopt the things that made onin no ran so good.
Games on the Arcadian server are pretty fun, though terribly imbalanced. One or two good players just wrecking the other team. My suggestion is doing team deathmatch, or something with faster respawns, so people who are learning don't wait around so much. That and make some of us mods so we can ban the TKers and possibly force people to change teams.
Multiplayer is so fun, but damn you anon for wrecking my face. I was all excited to block your attacks and hack your face apart. Instead you sweep your axe through me and I die in one hit. Dangit! I really need to level my guy up. Apparently farmers aren't the best swordsmen.

I can't help it I'm pro and can wreck a full team of Khergits as a Rhodok Sergeant. :P
Man, Prophecy of Pendor seems unreasonably hard. I had a few party members and a handful of troops, and we're slinking around fighting whatever tiny bands of brigands we can find. It's slim pickings, so to pay them we rob a few Empire towns. After a while we're trying to get back into Sarleon territory. A horde of 300 horsemen block us from the direct path, so we go the other way, and oops, it's the entire Imperial army, on the warpath. So we duck past them, and swing wide around. We fight a pair of adventuring companies, full of super tough knights. We win, but when a third comes we're hurt so we leg it into a nearby D'Shar castle. Once morning comes we can run like mad back to Sarleon.
Who shows up in the middle of the night? The whole Imperial army, come to sack the castle. I'm praying that the D'Shar dudes show up to defend their shit, but the AI still seems bad, and nobody lifts a finger. That's how thirty bandits ended up giving their lives defending the walls of a D'Shar stronghold.
I also noticed there's no collision detection for the trees in this, either. That really bothers me.
Anyone who wants to have admin access on the server, PM me. I'll review your PA account and if it's up to snuff, I'll give you the admin password. Also, I'll gladly shift the map to TDM or something, let me look into it tomorrow.

I miss that mod, they need to port it over already.
Thank you guys for the best night of gaming I've had in a long ass time. I hope this server and this group lasts for a good while. Thanks for providing the server, Anon.
What's the logic behind that. Are all my guys really antisocial or something.
Or am I not a bad enough dude to inspire them to work together.
The larger a group is, the more likely there are to be troublemakers, rabblerousers, and dissidents. Plus, the more people there are, the harder it is to feel like you're part of the king's elite guard (or Joe Schmoe's personal guard if you haven't declared yourself king yet :P) rather than just another faceless grunt.

Also I really hope something like Onin no Ran happens for warband. I need to get my samurai on.

Oddly enough, doing this activated the full game and it didnt even prompt me to enter the 4x4 key.
So yay i get to shoot mans now

Too many.
Easiest way to offset morale is by carrying a shitton of various types of food.
