I bet if they hadn't made the initial achievements/unlocks so shit awful to get, the exploits wouldn't have been anywhere near as bad.
They have a track record for releasing incredibly awful first versions of things

Yes, egg on my face over that, but I don't see how this is a dock against the achievement system before or after. If we disregarded everything that was unbalanced on first release, we wouldn't have a lot of good things.

What if we add the pre-release whining about lack of grenades into it!?
Some twisted vortexial matter anomaly makes it so that when you are using a weapon it crits 0.05% of the time but when others use it the crit rate jumps to 40% or possibly 130%.
I think the barrels will be only really usefull to hide in areas people just scan, if they are just looking by quickly and don't see a humanoid/colored shape they will skip it.
