I also got the new Why? album today but I haven't gotten the chance to listen to it. I did listen to A Sunny Day in Glasglow through Spin's site and I'll be getting that soon.

I don't particularly enjoy Why?, but they're playing with Dark Dark Dark at a couple dates and I fucking love Dark Dark Dark.

    you should enjoy Why?

    why? are so excellent

    Why?

I don't really know if I'd call that "somber"

The stuff you're giving me off Funeral is less slow, screechy vocals and acoustic guitar than Neon Bible, which is a point in its favor

And thinking that Neon Bible is better than Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer? is pretty silly

well, the entire premise and feel of Funeral is based around death and losing someone, so...

And I'm sorry, but you guys are just wrong.

Maybe the premise is somber, but those two songs were faster and higher energy than anything off Neon Bible

Except maybe the album version of No Cars Go, which I hate

Also, today one of my friends unironically agreed that vinyl was better because it had more "warmth"

I think I'm ready for any stupid hipster music-off we have

    One last post before bed:

AMP'd...just...augh. I guess what I'm saying is that despite the tempo or the instrumentation of the songs, I'm going to feel more emotions like sadness and loss rolling off of Funeral than I do from Neon Bible. Make sense? Probably not. But that's just the feeling I get from it. But it's 1:39 in the fucking morning and I'm exhausted.

    counter: Antichrist Television Blues.

But you'd probably really enjoy all of Funeral if you like those two songs. those are the first two tracks off the album.

Yeah so do I, but hey, it's not exactly a practical format.

I regularly sacrifice practicality for taste and sentimentality and consider myself the better for it

I'm hardly gonna lug a record player around the states, though
