Trying to encode subtitles onto a video file

Hi all, might be a stupid question, but here goes.
I used Aegisub to create a set of subtitles for a short video, and saved it in .ass format. Now I want to encode them back onto the video(.MP4) so I can upload it to youtube.
I was recommended the MeGUI program for this purpose, but it won't let me render the video. It says it's unable, likely because I'm 'missing filters'. MeGUI's fully updated, far as I can tell.
Is there another way to create the subbed version of the video, maybe using Aegisub itself? If that program has a means of doing it, I couldn't find it.
I might also be using MeGUI wrong, since the interface doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Other program recommendations would also be helpful.
Youtube actually supports softsubs, so you can upload the subtitles independently of the video. You'll have to convert them to .sub or .srt format first, though.
