I doubt you guys can help with this, but on the internet channel, whenever i'm on a CRT tv the lines aren't straight, like the vertical lines on this forum would bow out. On my dad's rear projection it's fine, but on crt's with either the stock RCA cables or the psyclone Component's I bought the lines are bowed.
Sounds like it might be running at a resolution that TV does not support.
Sounds like he just has bad geometry. Most CRTs do. He probably doesn't notice in most cases because most movies games and TV shows don't have straight lines running everywhere.
no guys, its cancer

because i placed it high in my mind months and months ago and had high hopes for it. i'm just having trouble completely breaking that mindset.
Watch Gamespot's video review and ask yourself "what are the odds that this is actually a really good game and they just found the most obscure bugs and spent hundreds of hours making them happen so they could lie and say it sucks and is buggy?"

Red Steel? I did not play Red Steel. Why the fuck would I do that? If you're implying that this somehow invalidates the footage of it being buggy and shitty in Gamespot's video review, along with people I know telling me that it's bad and shitty, then...um...then you are very dumb and very bad at debating.
While we're here, I'm also going to suggest hitting yourself in the nuts with a claw hammer. The claw end, specifically. If you suggest that this is a bad idea, I will point out that you haven't actually tried purposely claw-hammering your testicles before. This gets around the "you haven't played it so you can't know anything about it" argument by pointing out that some things can be figured out fairly reliably by inference and extrapolation based on previous experience. You KNOW that the hammer idea is bad because you have enough experience with hammers, testicles, and pain to know what's gonna happen without needing to feel it for yourself.

your on to something here, but I guess there is no resolution, it makes me sad. it also appears as though the top corners bend in slightly. I don't know whether to blame my wii or my tv, probably tv

So you have enough experience with Wii, Wii FPSes and the like to know how its going to play? I mean, experience as in hands on terms, not being told.
regardless, I dont understand why you would step in and try and stop a guy from wanting to play a game hes wanted to play for a few months. let him try and learn himself. after all, its not like he's wasting your time or money by doing so.

I do have first-hand experience with the Wii, just not with Red Steel. I also have plenty of FPS experience, both PC and console, although mainly PC, in part because I believe the mouse/keyboard combo is better than gamepads. And I'm not a big fan of lightguns, as cool as they are in theory.
I wouldn't say that first-hand experience playing Red Steel would be a bad thing, but I don't think it's especially needed in this case either, especially in light of the mountain of damning evidence against it.
Why would I do this? To save him from wasting his time and money because I care. The decrease in economic reward for Red Steel is not even much of a factor, but I guess it would be a nice side benefit.
if Call of Duty 3 had online multiplayer I would never need another game ever again
er well...maybe I would
what
since when is call of duty so awesome
what the fuck
I really like it. At first I was kinda eh, but then when I figured out how to use the motion sensors to their full advantage it become HOLY SHIT this is awesome.

honestly, the control scheme grows on you. I wish I could play all FPSes this way. I don't know if it's just really well done, or if maybe I am missing out on something by passing on Far Cry Vengeance and Red Steel

I don't think I even got past the first level in that game. I really didn't like it, and I'm pretty tempted to see what EB will give me for it once they get some more god damned Wiimotes in stock.
goddamnit i don't know if it is the forums being shitty or this internet connection being shitty but it is taking me goddamned ages to do fuckin' anything

(This is actually why I didn't trade mine in and decided to finish it instead)
Well damn. I got the game as a gift, but that's still a pretty shitty return. Do the motion controls get easier to deal with later in the game? Because I don't think I even finished the first firefight before giving up on that game, I hated the controls so god damned much.

what irked you so much about the controls? maybe you should try playing with some of the settings in the controls menu (you can adjust dynamic aiming and sensitivity and such), but on the other hand I can also see how these controls may not be for everyone

I think it's just something I'll have to get used too, as I more or less felt the same way about Red Steel. At the time that was the only game I really had left to play after finishing TP, so I forced myself to get used too it. Now I've got other games to turn to when CoD3 got annoying.

However, you should try it out before you buy it. You may not like it as much, but it isn't a bad game

Please note that I was not basing Wii FPS on Red Steel. I was suggesting that Red Steel is very likely a turd.
