Semi-Charmed Life is my favorite of the extra songs, as I smiled the whole time we played it. That song is my theme song to the nineties for me. It brought back alot of memories about those years.
That was, oddly enough, the song I was looking forward to most on a Van Halen-based Guitar Hero.
Luckily a Third Eye Blind six-pack is coming to RB and includes it.

I like it enough I may download it for Rock Band....as I listed to alot of Third Eye Blind back then.
In fact "Ten Days Late" was my song I listened to when my wife was pregnant, as it hit home about the uncertainty and confusion of first time parents.
Full disclosure: thought it was a dumb idea until, like, 5 minutes ago. I think when some of the earliest videos were demos of Hollaback Girl on what certainly must have been the easiest difficulty level, that was an instantaneous turn-off.
Then I watched this on Giant-Bomb, then more importantly this, and am now substantially more intrigued. I'll need more time to meditate on it, but this just might end up on the short list of must-buys.
Hearing the guys on the Bombcast talk about it was pretty much what sold me on it as well.
It's a lot better to hear people actually talk about how the game works rather than to just throw a couple pics of your peripheral and some indecipherable screenshots out there.
"Paper Planes" by M.I.A. vs. "Chillin'" by Wale featuring Lady Gaga
Fucking rhythm games have been in dire need of M.I.A.
M.I.A. plus Lady Gaga...I will generate the money for this on day one, somehow.
EDIT: And listening to them both...yeah, I can definitely see this working as a mix. Especially Lady Gaga's vocals...very similar in structure, I can't believe I never picked up on it before.
I am not too keen on Band Hero. I wish it was so shamefully pop that I had to hide it from my friends, but alas. Maybe Rock Band will get the 1 song I really want to play as a single (KT Tunstall!)
Ray: Oh shit no, I wasn't saying I could play that - just maybe the tap sections, and even then it would prbably take me months. Fug, Eruption's regarded as hella hard song by any guitarist, pshaw. Hardest thing I can play is Fuel or For Whom The Bell Tolls by Metallica, MILES outta my league.
Its cool, i wasn't giving you shit. Keep practising yeah
Yeah, don't worry I was just facing reality unfortunately. Don't get me wrong, not being able to play something as insanely difficult as Eruption really isn't a discourager - just means I've got a lot more practice to do which with my exams coming up, is rather hard to find time for. :P
Well, on the plus side, awesome note charts can really make you dig a song.
For me, it's Judith by A Perfect Circle. I used to hate that song and hell, I still do but playing it in Guitar Hero is awesome fun. So, I kinda forgive Neversoft for picking that over Blue.
Still....I would love to see Blue in either Rock Band or Guitar Hero - Ideally Rock Band 3 with (if they implement it) vocal harmonies so me and a female friend of mine who is also obsessed with APC could sing together. It's either that happens or we just cover it in my band and honestly? That's not something that's likely to happen, I'd hate to remove and potentially butcher Maynard and James' harmonies. It'd be much more fun to simply sing over theirs. :P

Well, procrastination is a bitch - so I'm doing a bit of both. Trying to alternate, with this horribly gap of lag in the middle wherein I do things like hang on this forum too much. :P
Also, my HDD is here. I'm picking it up Thursday, I'll grab that + my 360 stuff and some MS points and grab me some DLC. It'll most likely just be the songs I like of Death Magnetic + A few others I've listed previously in this thread. I'll keep y'all updated.
They should make Classical Music Hero. There'd be 100 plastic instruments in the box, and it'd cost about $10,000, but I'd love to play me some Beethoven!

Honestly, if you want DJ Hero just wait a few months. Considering how quickly Activision drops the price on GH stuff, the price on DJ Hero won't stand for long. No one should have to pay $120 for the kit.

THIS.
Totally my plan. I bet within 3 months I can get the whole kit for $40. They need to make room for band hero on shelves somewhere.

I'm tempted to buy the whole "Pop Hero" set just to get the new drums. My two year old son has done some major damage to my current set.

But see, this is something I'd actually like to see succeed, so I'm more than happy to pay for it at its initial MSRP.

But here's the difficult dilemma for the person voting with his wallet... if you vote with your wallet on day one, you're not just supporting the game, you're supporting an utterly stupid price point. Do you really want to encourage Activision to charge this much for their stuff?
Honestly, because of Guitar Hero, they're going to anyways.
This is a completely new developer, been working on this game for over three years, Activision signed on with them a year ago and it was probably the only way to get as much licensing as they did and be able to put out their product.
So yes, I'd have to get that day one, simply because it's helping FreeStyleGames more than it would be hurting Activision.

In April, publisher Activision purchased 7 Studios, then the developer of DJ Hero competitor Scratch the Ultimate DJ. Today, Kotaku has been told by sources close to the studio, it laid off an estimated 30 people from 7 Studios.
The Los Angeles based 7 Studios was at the heart of an ensuing lawsuit filed by Scratch publisher Genius Products and turntable controller maker Numark Industries. That suit alleged that Activision and 7 Studios conspired to withhold Scratch the Ultimate DJ "in an effort to delay the development and release of Scratch and to gain access to proprietary technology."
Activision denied any wrongdoing in its purchase of 7 Studios, saying the buy out was made to "bolster its development capabilities," that it "provided the fledgling developer with much needed financing during these difficult economic times."
Scratch the Ultimate DJ ultimately found a new developer in Commotion Interactive.
Activision reps provided the following statement to Kotaku.
"Since the completion of its acquisition by Activision, 7 Studios has realigned its business to focus its development resources on the music genre. As a part of this realignment, the studio is reducing its workforce to better reflect Activision's upcoming slate of music-based games."
The 30 or so employees let go today represented approximately half of the entirety of 7 Studios, according to our source. We're attempting to get confirmation from Activision on the accuracy of that figure.
Goddammit Activision.

well, and that ghvd doesn't officially 'come out' for a couple months, so it's more like just kind of trickling out and a matter of time before someone who cares enough to record some gameplay footage gets their copy in the mail
Thread title should be Shirley Manson used to be hot.

So, if the thread title now going to change whenever glithert gets a hard-on? Because if that's so then it's gonna make it very difficult for people to recognise just what this thread's about. :P
Unless of course I'm missing some kind of reason for the above title?

I know!
Even better, it's mixed with "Feel Good Inc."
Can't wait.
I will trade in for this if I have to.

And Panama is pretty fun but why did they go with the "old guy" look
I mean I know they're old guys but cmon
I think Activision have just oversaturated to the point where no one gives a shit when a new music game comes out.
Which I doubt you are
Pwetty Woman
Also Jump has the keyboard charted looooooooooooll
This sure is a change of pace
Anyway, tapping is pretty much going to be necessary to 5 star some of the later songs, which is bad, because I never bothered to learn how
No way dude! I was stoked about it originally but as soon as I heard that Daft Punk was involved I preordered it instantly, hehe.
