I dunno, GH5 didn't sell as well as Beatles Rock Band, even when they loudly said they were giving away Wolfgang's iPod for free. I'd say they need the ads.

Judging by Facebook comments whenever new Rock Band songs are announced, everyone is "sick of Rock Band" and this week's selection has "ruined the entire game" and they're all "converting to Guitar Hero."
I work at a TV station and this morning our daily technology package was a review of this game. I was kind of excited to see what random ABC tech guy was going to say.
Then, I swear to god, as the director of the newscast, when we started rolling the story I looked up something about Alan Wake real quick, got distracted, and missed the entire thing.
Even I am shocked about how little I care about this.

I know someone who has, so I may get to play it this weekend, but I will hold till its £20 I think, Im not overly hateful of the game (yet) but just to many better games out right now.
I am going to buy this game for one thing, and one thing only - 2112. I hate that they had to ruin this song's legacy by including it in Warriors of Rock, but it's fucking 2112. The song I've been dreaming of playing in GH since GH1. There's NO WAY I'm not going to buy it. But not until it's way cheaper. Possibly used.

I wouldn't normally buy a game just for one song, anyway. Like if Paradise City was in RB or GH, I wouldn't buy the game just for that song, and it's one of my favorite songs. 2112 is kind of a special case.
Up to 14 months for it to be a sure thing, but I bet if you keep an eye out you could get it much earlier in that price range. I'm not talking about strictly new purchases -- services that sell the game in a used, but practically pristine state (like Gamefly) are on the radar for me. I could see it going in an Amazon lightning deal or something, too.
Aw crap, can't copy and paste. At any rate, Atari dumped 14 truckloads of ET and other games in the landfill. To prevent looting, steamrollers crushed the games and a concrete slab was poured over the remains.
The article's pretty fascinating and is a good look at why Atari died (the first time).
