There's also a form on the website for ordering one if you bought an Elite, but if you put 'ON ORDER' in the serial number field they'll send you one.

I said back, that I already opened it, and Best Buy would not allow me to exchange one product(headset included) for one without it(transfer kit), which they won't. I added a southern twang to my voice, and admitted that I didn't know if the cable I was apparently missing (afta readin' up on 'dat 'dere Xbox.com) was included, but shucks if I wasn't gonna call and check!
Was prompted for mailing address, and we were working an 8 to 12 day shipping.
It's simple psychology. You need to mix your voice with anger but sound commanding, and in charge, while still feigning innocence and ignorance to your problem its entirety.
If they're smart, and ask you if you bought a used HD, you lie your fucking ass off. Really.
If they're still hardasses, you hang up immediately, and try again. Sometimes they are smart, and will work you over. You simply need to find the guy who really doesn't give a fuck because he isn't payed enough to enforce dickish company policy.
Or find a woman. They pity you like a beast if you work them right.

Pancake does bring up a good point; I doubt I'd have gotten my PS3 repaired for free if I was talking to a guy. The woman took pity on the fact that my PS3's warranty had expired, but the console hadn't been in use for a full year since it was a Christmas present (bought it two weeks before Christmas 07, broke a few days before Christmas 08), so she decided to give us the free repair anyway. Guys in tech support can and will be hardasses. I recall back when my Pokemon Yellow broke because of Missingno that the tech support guy pretty much said, "Tough luck, kid."
So my brother just got back from a trip to Vancouver (it's in Canada) and brought me back an ODST training poster. Some sort of viral marketing scheme it seems, I'll post picks later once I'm back home.

They quit taking preorders on the CE because it ships tomorrow. They'll be making millions of more regular copies, so they'll be able to replenish easily.

:tear: Well, at least we know they've actually considered doing Half Jaw's Awesome Adventure
The interesting thing about that is that they considered a campaign with a young Johnson. I think there's something to be said for not playing as him in any meaningful way - I kinda like that there are people who aren't the player that are badasses. It's also going to be a little bittersweet playing as someone who you know dies without a huge amount of ceremony. Hell, what impact that death had would probably be dulled by the time you finished a Johnson game, given all the deaths you'd had yourself throughout the campaign.

Yay, I found a 99% consistent way to take it down without it blowing me up.
edit: so my gameplan is now
1) Grind "Cortana" for maximum profit
2) Grind "Halo" again, possibly get 20 more minutes out of it.
3) All my last attempts will be put into Tsavo Highway, at that point I only have enough time for 2 attempts or so. Fucking hill wraith. Maybe, MAYBE I'll drop it down to Easy for the run, but the fights on Normal do add some time. At that point I will have a 20 hour total gametime maybe, that should be enough to beat the other guy since it sounds like he needs to do Cortana anyway. I wish I could figure out his gamertag so I can see which levels he rode for a lot of time.
Care to share? I hate those bastards and usually end up using a plasma pistol to hijack/turn the tables, or abuse the unlimited fuel rod ammo passenger on the warthog... Either way success rate is not so good.

Also did some test runs against that Wraith. He killed me 5 out of 9 tries against him
