I think my big driving problems come from my love of the e-brake. I really like to power slide and don't like to slow down to turn.... like at all. Willeth can attest.
Gauss Hogs are amazing. As long as your driver doesn't take you toe to toe with a tank (or other Gauss), play chicken with a Chopper, or get you stuck by a plasma, it is concentrated rape. Also, distance is not a factor, so it is often most effectively used as a mobile sniper platform. Keyword = mobile.
Other vehicle tips:
A good tactic against Hornets in a hog is to get under their angle of attack and find a sweet spot where you keep pushing/denying them an angle while tearing up their underbelly.
Unless they are completely unaware, it is not a good idea to go for splatters in a banshee 99% of the time.

protip: if you see a hornet and a hog and you do not get the hog first, you will die. There is no "Oh but the hornet is so weak to take down!" No, because when you spent 5 seconds taking down the hornet the hog took five seconds to kill you. If you even get the advantage on the hog you still might lose, because you might have shot the body of the hog instead of the turret.
also proprotip: as a dude that uses the hornet a lot, it is not essential to maintain air superiority with it, mostly because the damn thing doesnt do any damage unless shields are down and if they're anywhere near a regen it's haha fuck you time. The thing is really just a glorified transport in objective and only useful in pairs but then they can just get rocked by a turret or hog or a breeze
Very true. The Hornet is more of a psychological weapon, really. Use it keep people pinned down and out of the open spaces, but like Lookfree says, it's actual threat level is pretty low. Hell, a coordinated BR barrage can usually drop it out of the sky. Fucking phenomenal flag/bomb carrier though.

While we're on a vehicle kick, I'd like to help out an often misunderstood one...
The Prowler is a splatter machine in the right environment. It turns on a dime and hits like a truck even at low speeds. It's just that its anti-vehicle capability is rather low/nonexistant, so make sure to grab a buddy with rockets or own the map first.

Assuming we're talking about avalanche here; if the hornet is holding it's own on our half of the map, we already done fucked up.
Eh, it depends on gametype. If we're playing CTF I'll go for the Hornet first every time (or more accurately, I'll drive under the Hornet and yell at the gunner). I don't care if I die as long as I take it down.
To be honest though it doesn't matter, because we should have the laser anyway.

Here's a question.
Bungie has stated before that if you ever ask them for recon, they put you on some permanent list that says you will never have recon. If you were on that list, and you get all the vidmasters, what happens?

There's a lot of flipping involved.
Also a lot of hitting people with your car.
